MINOR DEMON CONTEST · on 3/31/2006 6:51:11 PM https://www.play.net/images/forums/links-arrows.gif (http://forum.gsplayers.com/) 1307 (https://www.play.net/forums/messages.asp?forum=102&category=1&topic=1&message=1307) https://www.play.net/images/transparent.gifhttps://www.play.net/images/transparent.gifI've been thinking on minor demons lately, specifically the idea to improve the Sorcerer-to-demon relationship in terms of interactive verbs. And I've also been thinking on ways to get rune knowledge out to the Sorcerer community.
So, do you know what both of those mean together? You got it...
CONTEST!
Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to design up to 6 messages, based on various verbs (hug, kiss, slap, punish, etc) for one (1) type of demon (see summary below for demons to choose from). Include both a first person view (seen by the Sorcerer), and a third person view (seen by others in the room).
Also, design with it various (up to 10) "lazy" actions that the demon would do when it is not being commanded.
Example:
Slap -You bend over and give your imp a swift slap across the face! The small creature recoils from the hit and slowly cowers away from you.Bob bends over and gives his imp a swift slap across the face! The small creature recoils from the hit and slowly cowers away from him.
Lazy -The imp slowly walks in a circle around Bob, then looks up with a fleeting glance before cowering away. The imp slowly walks in a circle around you, then looks up with a fleeting glance before cowering away.
Once you have finished designing the messaging, e-mail it to me (gs4-lothwyn at play.net) with the subject MINOR DEMON ENTRY, and you're on your way for a chance to learn one (1) demon-specific rune of your choice (with possibility of being able to teach a couple Sorcerers--to be decided).
There will be four (4) winners. The top Sorcerer with the best overall messaging for a particular demon will win. The winning messages will be incorporated into the game as the demon's interactive, and lazy messaging.
Due to the nature of the prize, only those with Sorcerer characters can enter.
Platinum Players may enter, but the contests are not seperate. Only four total winners between the two instances.
ONLY ONE ENTRY IS ALLOWED, AND ONLY ONE DEMON CAN BE SUBMITTED.
Deadline for this contest is April 30th, 2006.
Winners will be announced shortly after the deadline.
Entries that do not follow the rules provided will be rejected.
Once submitted, messaging becomes property of Simutronics, Inc, and we reserve the right to add or change to the messaging to fit our needs. Void where prohibited, and all that spiffy stuff.
Any questions or comments should be directed to the Sorcery Discussion Folder on the Prime boards.
Summary:1) Choose a demon to design messaging for from the following list: Verlok, Grantis, Abyran (with one or two differences for the different types), and Aishan.Note: Not all demons are listed, as we've already got messaging in place for those demons.2) Design verb-interactive messaging (up to 6), and lazy messaging (up to 10) for ONE type of demon.3) Submit it to Lothwyn's e-mail (gs4-lothwyn at play.net) with the subject MINOR DEMON ENTRY4) Deadline is April 30th, 2006.
I look forward to all the entries. Good luck!
