Lil' Update

I realize I haven't posted on here lately and I thought I'd give everyone a heads-up that I'm still alive. :D

Get married in 5 days. So much to do, gotta get nails done, tan, make sure my dress didn't shrink after they drycleaned it (or that I've gotten too fat for it).

I quit my job at the construction company I had been working three months at...I was stolen by a much, much better computer chip-assembling company with TONS more benefits.

I gave up a resignation letter to my current employer and they were pissed, but didn't boot me out the door. I'm debating on whether or not to show up after they give me my paycheck this Wednesday...whaddya think? Only problem with that is I gotta get my last paycheck when I get back and I know I'm going to get ugly looks.

Anyway, just thought I'd share, and I promise to post wedding photos when we get back from the honeymoon.

I'm totally excited for you, Shari. I can't wait to see how everything turns out. You're good - I quit my job a month before my wedding. I hope you have time to get everything done.

One thing the officiant at my wedding told us on the rehersal night was excellent advice. He said to remember that all kinds of things can go wrong at a wedding, but not to worry about that stuff, because the point is that at the end of the day, the goal will be accomplished and the two of you will be married.

Congrats on getting married (by now you will be).

Show up for work after getting your last pay cheque (check south of the 49th parallel). It will show you have character. Before you leave thank them for the opportunity they have given you, tell them they have a great company but it isn't the right company for you and you believe it was better to leave sooner rather than later.
