Since it looks like I'm going to back out of all my vacation plans for this summer for various reasons, I'm looking to plan a solo trip somewhere either later this spring or somewhere this summer since my vacation days are just piling up. So basically I'm wondering if anyone has any good vacation ideas or places they'd recommend. Basically I'm just looking to get away for about a week or so at some point. I'm not looking to spend a ton and I think an all inclusive would be ideal for someone in my position but I'm open to just about anything.

What quality poon are you aiming for? Might help us determine the right resort/location.

I enjoyed Ireland, Teej, if you're looking to "cross the pond". You can usually get some pretty good deals.

You should take advantage of not being melanin deficient. Hit up an island.

I'd look at Cancun. It's wicked fun and beautiful. They offer all inclusive deals all the time there as well.

Go to France.
It doesn't cost a ton. The south side I hear is awesome in summer and plenty to do too.
(Yeah I know France isn't my favourite place but others say it's great).
Or why not try somewhere like Madrid. Agian not too expensive while being totally interesting.
Or Skegness!!

South of France is lovely in the summer for sure. I'd also recommend Cyprus, it's lovely and hot there, great scenery and you can take a two day trip to Egypt while you're there too which is amazing. I've been to a few different places in Cyprus but always on the Greek side as I've been told its generally nicer.

I hear St. Louis is tons of fun.

The 4th of July free concerts in St. Louis used to be great, but they've decided on something different this year. :(

If you're into b-ball games (new stadium will be completed I think soon), broadways shows (Fox Theatre), the zoo, Six Flags, Laclede's Landing (for some nightlife)... to name a few things. Not to mention there's some on these boards you could meet in St. Louis if that's your idea of a vacation. Or storm GS's headquarters.

What about Branson, MO or Las Vegas, NV for all-inclusives? Or Nashville? I don't know what your tastes/likes are.

Sit at home and cap a character in GS.

Stayed here in Panama City last September. Since it was off peak we got a really good deal. The resort was fantastic

Aside from the whole missing student fiasco... Aruba is paradise.

Yeah, I went to aruba a few years ago. Was a great place to go. Be sure to take at least one day where you rent a jeep (piece of crap amigo) down the other side of the island that's all rocky.

All inclusive probably would have made more sense for us had I known how much we'd be drinking.

Costa Rica FTW. Cheap as hell, beautiful beaches, lotsa people traveling by themselves, local vegetation readily available for purchase, rain forest, volcanos, and you can get anywhere via bus but I'd rent a 4x4 car/truck. PM me if you want I go surfing there every year.

Costa Rica FTW! Definitely. It's also cheaper to vacation there. The American dollar goes a long way. :)

And no crime....

My friends just got back from their yearly surfing trip.. always good stories. This year their NICE ass town house was robbed AND the perps took a big steaming pile of shit on their door step. HAHA. Not to worry the taxi driver sold them their cameras back pretty cheap.

Other great things in Aruba - horseback riding on the sand dunes. Brunch at Ruinas del Mar for 2 hours including neverending mimosas. Swim up bars.

And yes, I'd go all inclusive to. I had lots of Kaluha coladas.

Swim up bars in Aruba ftw, for sure. Just be careful.

Also watch out for floating crumbs from food people have eaten at the bar.

Aruba sounds fun.

Where's the place that has the god-awfully expensive underwater hotel rooms? I'd love to experience that sometime.

You're probably talking about the Hydropolis in Dubai, Leetah. According to the latest estimates, it should be open in October of this year. Usually, their projects run right on time.

Heh. Guess this one is going to be an exception. Looks like they're now shooting for the end of 2007. :D

Ahh. I thought there was already some around, where you scuba dive into your room. Still looks cool.

There's a very small one in Key Largo...Jules' Undersea Lodge. It's been around for awhile, and you do have to scuba in. It used to be an undersea laboratory.

Celebrity cruise lines are geared toward mature[not always old] people.

Carnival is geared toward keggers I thought?

I thought it'd be fun to go on a cruise, but with all that shit in the news lately about people disappearing off a boat and not being found, that freaks me out.
