Does anyone have any experience with this fucking thing? I left McAfee virus scan running overnight, and when I woke up SPYWARE QUAKE was installed on my computer.

If I delete the program, it either reinstalls itself in a few minutes, or if I restart it reinstalls itself then. I've used adaware, spysweeper, McAfee, XoftSpy, and ewido to remove it and none of those worked. I went into the registry and deleted a few things that were related to "spyware quake"...didn't work either.

There's a little icon related to it that warns me every few minutes that my computer is infected. I went into safe mode and that icon was still there next to the clock warning me. Even in safe mode.

I let two of my friends remote into my computer and they don't know what's up, so I figured I'd ask here.

ok first off here is a link to a website that has a solution to it:

Second.

You should have someone good with windows services and security come over and help you lock your computer down. Remote Help and Remote Registry access albeit helpful in some cases, are big gaping problems for you if someone aside from your friends decide to come in. So go find your friendly neighborhood computer geek and get him or her to come over for dinner and put the hook-up on your computer with getting your services and startup programs plus the right set of security programs. Good luck!
