View Full Version : Does anyone know what happened to these MIDIs?

What happened to the midis that used to play when:

A) Passing the North Gate (outside) of Wehnimer's Landing?

B) Entering Kilron's pawnshop?

C) Entering Tykel's arms?

I am pretty sure that these particular midis were made available in the first Wizard FE graphics + music package release, but considering the amount of time that's elapsed since I've heard any of them, I am not 100% certain of their certain download origins.

Does this even ring a bell :puzzled:

There's only one that comes with the download, and that's the sign-on. I'm thinking of remastering it in my lab, and make it sound actually good.

No clue about the other ones, though.

I think before paks 1 through 5 were condensed, 1 itself had music (and art files) that auto-loaded at the aforementioned locations. That's also my guesswork since it's been since around the banaltra invasion that I last heard the music files (the art images load in the pawnshops of other towns such as Teras or EN now, for some reason.)

For some reason, I'm thinking that the Graveyard Gate has been the only art + MIDI file whose loading has remained consistent throughout the years..?

I found two broken links doing a bit of extensive googling. They were broken links.

Stormfront needs music. I wonder- is there a way in Lich (I haven't written one line of anything in that yet) to script something that allows music at locations, like this? You could even trigger the final fantasy "Battle ending" music when you take out someone :-p.

Not that this helps, but it's a cool site.

If anyone has any clue as to how someone could use location triggers for music in SF that'd be great. Or, at the least, point me in a starting direction and i'll figure it out on my own?

There is an option to turn music / sound on and off in SF, so I'm sure there's a way.

I actually just set up wave files to trigger and play when the string of text announcing a location comes up.

You just go into SF's options screen, then to Highlights. Then click on Custom, copy/paste the line of text that the rooom mentions that you think is significant and unique (otherwise the music will play every time you see that particular line and if it's common to see it, you'll have the song starting over and over), then at the bottom where it says Sound, you assign the text a wave file of your choice (that you have on your computer). That's that.

I have hunting music set up to play whenever the string comes up that indicates I've entered the area, music that plays upon seeing the string of text 'Welcome to Gemstone IV' and all kinds of other things. Pretty simple really.

You could convert the current midi to play as your ringtone pretty easily actually.

Lol those midis remind me of when I had fun in this game. The excitement logging into the wizard etc.
