I have a level 24 half-elf wizard that I haven't played since gs3. I can't remember anything about how to train it or place its stats. Anyone help me out and give me some good traning plans?

Heh... 'half-wizard'.

Its really way different than it was in GS3.

You planning on the old sword and board plan or are you going for a runestaff? Maybe a two-handed wizard?

I like the enchanter route till 49, then start swapping your skill set to where you utilize shield, and other physical abilities, while continuing spells, spell aim, and HP.

This is a max TP gain set-up, not max stats at cap.

Mine is only to train 46 so far, but here he is:

Yup, most points afforded that way.

How does a runestaff work if I want to use a wand when I run out of mana? Will I still be protected somehow?

I've always used a shield and an OHE, so anything else is totally foreign to me.

And what about lores as a wizard?

For stats I'm not sure I'd ever get anywhere near the cap, but I still kind of would rather have them to where they would all be as high as possible then.

Simply use the wand in your off hand.

Will I still be protected somehow?

Yes, there is no penalty for a wand in your off hand.

I've always used a shield and an OHE, so anything else is totally foreign to me.

And what about lores as a wizard?

As you were able to see, I do not do lores. Lores are a personal choice. I believe that it is air and earth lore that affect the most spells. When I get to where I start doing lores, it will be fire, as my wizard all about the red flame. So, it's a personal choice.

For stats I'm not sure I'd ever get anywhere near the cap, but I still kind of would rather have them to where they would all be as high as possible then.

If you place stats for cap, your wizard will be of little enjoyment (in my opinion), and will not hunt well, not compared to someone that set stats for tp's and best hunting ability. Again, it's a personal choice, but one that should be considered well. However, seeing as you are already train 24, the only way you are getting stat changes is a re-roll, or if you are still in your 30 day migration period.

I would advise considering carefully the effects of setting stats to best at cap, maybe meet in the middle? I love my wizard, he is very powerful, and always will be. The stats that are low will be of little consequence to him, and will hardly ever effect him if ever.
