Eh, I thought the scientology episode was funnier, but this was good.

Was hoping they were going to make more jabs at scientology (they did a bit)...

Was that the one with R Kelly singing 'Trapped in the Closet'? That one was pretty damn funny, too. "I pull out my Beretta!"

This was the finale of the scientology one as far as I'm concerned. Isaac quit southpark because of the scientology bashing so they bring him back for one fucked up pwning using chopped up voices from over the years...a real FUCK YOU to Isaac.

Fruity little group = scientology.

Actually that news about Isaac Hayes quitting over the whole Scientology thing was a premature press leak. What really happened was Isaac Hayes suffered a mild stroke that affected his speech and memory.

Like the headline says "controversy". For now I'll take the word of Matt and Trey who said he did infact quit over the religion issues and more directly the scientology bashing.

Why did it take so long to say now that it wasn't over the scientology? For me, I think that's a lot of bullshit.

Isaac and his little fuckbuddy Tom Cruise already have made their "religion" into a bigger mockery by being complete asshats about this.

The damage is done, little too late at this point.

Alternately...it's Hayes giving Parker and Stone publicity at their request. I sure wouldn't put it past them to make hype.

I really wouldn't think they would have gone on tv and had that interview the other day bashing Haayes if he had really suffered a stroke. Who is to say he didn't have a stroke after he quit?

They did can the scheduled repeat of the tom cruise/scientology episode last week tho..

You're confusing real life with a cartoon.

Conversely, I'd say I was pointing out that people who are sensitive don't tend to produce unsensitive material. Nice red herring to get out of answering the question though LIBERAL TARD.

I've met him and he was a nice guy. Also very well spoken and intelligent.

I'm not terribly familiar with Ron Jeremy's work, but I don't imagine he pauses during his... activities to deliver scathing dialogue about current events or celebrities.

"Oh yeah, baby, yeah... you know, Jonathan Edwards is a huge con artist, yeah.. UNNNNNH!!"

He could have said it. A spokesperson on his behalf could have said it. ANYONE could have said it. Why is it an afterthought now? That was my question.

I just find it curious that we hear of his problem with scientology before we hear about someone like Isaac Hayes having a stroke.

No, I just expected that the media who likes to tell us of every fucking ailment, skinned knee, barf episode of every person in the entertainment field, that they would tell of Isaac Hayes having a fucking stroke.

So he was feeling fine to tell us that South Park was showing his religion in poor taste but not that he was suffering a stroke? C'mon man. I'm sorry I'm not buying the sudden afterthought.

Latrinsorm

Some people aren't brought up in such a way that they feel the need to publicize their illnesses/disabilities at irrelevant times, and the media is not omniscient. Look at Lou Gehrig. He didn't say "I played in 3000+ straight games and I have a debilitating disease". Look at FDR, he didn't say "I propose a New Deal and btw I can't walk". Why would Isaac Hayes say "Yeah it looks like South Park probably shouldn't make fun of religions and I just had a stroke"? I'd expect people to blast him for being attention-whorish if he had said that.

The argument could be made that this explains why Mr. Hayes didn't quit immediately following the Scientology episode, as it's hard to engage in contract termination when you almost die.

However, the argument could also be made that this is exactly the sort of episode that would give one a new perspective on life, so to speak, and that after deeper introspection Mr. Hayes came to decide that the cavalier attitude displayed towards religion that he didn't find overly disagreeable previously was in fact something he could not support.
