On average... how many hours per week do you spend playing GemStone?

I'm very curious as to how much GemStone some of the folks around here play. With people that 'just burn through their XXX' on their characters each week, I still think that amount of time is significant. Especially for those that MA.

Since I'm currently not working or attending school, I usually burn four to eight hours a day on GS. I've got six different characters (Prime) that all need leveling, and I try to get them all at least through their XXX each week (though, one of them hasn't levelled in about 6 months...she tends to wander around, see what's going on, maybe cast a few spells in the Park in Landing, the wander back to bed).

So, all in all, due to not having anything better to do currently, I think I'd have to say 40+ hours weekly for me. (That will be reduced drasticly once I get a job (hopefully sometime soon!), and/or go back to school next fall.

Radamanthys - To clarify, I mean hunting, roleplaying, absorbing exp, spelling up, meditating, questing, etc. Being logged in while you're watching TV or asleep on the couch doesn't count.

Probably 3-4 hours a day. Sometimes more, sometimes I don't log in at all or just for 15 minutes. It varies really.

it depends on how much schoolwork I have and what's going on IRL with my friends. I've been playing a lot lately, since the last WD, and especially this past week. the RP has been pretty intense.

Although I don't play anymore, I can say that I did the six hours XXX for three characters per week (maybe a bit more for my lowbies) prior to the canceling. Hunting without the gift became just far too slow and unproductive to me.

At the mo I spend about double that a week on WoW. However I am in an active BWL/AQ40 guild so there is always some new challenge to do. All GS came down to was endless grinding.

This question was raised a year or so ago, maybe longer.

At one point, when I first started, I played roughly 18 hours a day (double hernia surgery is something that really plants your ass.), although during that time it took me 6 months to achieve level 20. Most of my time was rp'ing.

Now days, I am lucky to see the inside of the game. I might get real lucky and get into game just long enough each week to check my shops, and perhaps throw some items up for sale. On a good week, I might get to spend as much as 0 to 10 hours a week actually playing and rp'ing.

Depends on what my work schedule is like. At the answering service (if I'm not snoozing) it can be the majority of the night depending if something is happening or I'm not too tired. With my other job, an hour-ish between sleep and work.

During winter quarter it was about 24 hours a week (4 characters, usually had just enough time to finish off everyone's XXX). If I didn't head out on friday/saturday night I could add another 6ish hours to that (still had to work, unfortunately). Between 20+ hours of gs4 and a 30 hour/week job, it's like having two part-time jobs sometimes, heh.

The weekend is when I will pop into the Small Park more often and RP a lot, because I am not multi-tasking. (i.e. household chores and such)

I just started playing again and will probably spend 10-12 hours a week playing at the most and thats divided up between all 7 days.

My time has dwindled down significantly the closer I get to the wedding date. But lately it looks like 1-2 hours a day. Back before I had a "real job" (as in, not working crazy ass hours as a server) I used to play 5-7 hours a day. Scott used to have fits. Now its not so bad.

Well since my knee injury flared up around 11 months ago and I've been outa work on workers comp since then. I play around 8-10 hours aday. Not being able to walk to far makes it easy to sit and stare at a black and white screen for hours apon hours apon hours apon hours ETC.


Once I get back to work it will be maybe 2 hours aday at the very very most
