It's ten years to the day since the massacre happened in Scotland. Lets hope the gun register goes through soon.

I disagree of course. Being a responsible gun owner myself (and a large number of my friends also own guns) I know that people can and do handle them safely. Nuts/Freaks/Criminals will always arm themselves illegally so restricting ownership only serves to protect the criminal element. That's why on your side of the pond you are 6x more likely to get a home invasion robbery than we are in the USA. Our overall home theft rate is similar but in the UK robbers are less afraid of being shot so they will rob a house with people in it.

I disagree, but not because I use guns to protect my home. I just don't think the government should mandate if I can or cannot bear arms. There are many, many reasons why that's a bad idea.

Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Castro all thought registering guns was a great idea as well. It makes it easier to round them up when they are banned

But lets remember, "GUNS PROTECT PEOPLE".You should remember that, as it's been statistically proven to be the case.

That doesn't make the tragedy of kids getting killed any less horrible, though.

There are enough people in the US who own guns that do NOT commit crimes with them, that it makes for a perfect statistic.

Gun violence happens in cities. In cities, people are on the streets, selling drugs. If we legalized drugs, there would be no way for gangs to make money, and they'd thus dissolve. The money would then go into the economy. And the group lobbying the hardest to keep drug laws? Law enforcement. It's $$ to them, too.
