Does anyone ever feel a name is masculine or feminine, and you assume that they are male or female, only to find out later they are the opposite of what you assume? God, I always feel like such a dumbass. This happens to me about every week too...I need to learn to LOOK PERSON first. lol.

Enough said. ::hiss::
For some reason, people keep thinking Michiko is a guy. :(

Might have something to do with a lot of names ending in O for males and A for females in some languages (ie, Mario/Maria).
When I used to play Kanyda a lot I got mistaken for a woman quite often.

Jorddyn was called sir more times than I can count. I tried shorter skirts. It didn't work.

That's because the shorter the skirt, the more your dangling unit was visible.

Anymore if I interact with someone in a room, I look at them. (mostly to see what their wearing)
Before I look I usually guess and I'm wrong pretty frequently. I just saw Innosent in TSC and figured it'd be a girl... but no, it's a boy!

Yeah, that.
I screw up on that a lot. I try to make sure all my girls have femanine-sounding names so the same thing doesn't happen to me.

I try to remind myself to LOOK just so I can figure out their race. To me, that's the bigger issue. But my main character is fairly preoccupied with race

Way to dodge the gender topic to talk of race, since no one really knows what gender your character is. :tongue:

When I first came into Gemstone 4 years ago, I misread and called Vif, Great Lord Vif. I was like all excited cause I'd never seen someone with that many trains...
Then, I was embarassed, now I laugh. Vif sucks!

since no one really knows what gender your character is.Yeah we do.
To be (more) on-topic, I suddenly feel a tinge of remorse for the hips comment that I just posted. Giggling is a sign of remorse, right?

My character addresses all adventurers as if they bore male genitals, as well as inanimate objects, but whatever.

Heh I've had Augie called sir or m'lord a lot of times before. I just chock it up to her bein so pint-sized that people forget to look down.
