Washee and I will be going. I've started to dig up some old maps to try to get an idea if I'll put one up on gs4.org.

I am sure that we'll have the irc chat going and be ready for lots of dwarven goodness.

Is this worth going to for $50? Can someone explain a little bit about it to me? I'd be interested in hearing both sides - RP and merchant/item quality.

Well it's put on by dwarves, so it's heavily armor and weapon based.

I looked at the list of contests and there were more than a few that I'll likely join.

There will be about 50 raffles of "better" items. It's anyone's guess what the quality of those items will be.

Dwarves are my favorite character, so this fest is right up my alley. But with any event it kind of depends on folks producing the event. It's pretty reasonable at 50.00 bucks, it was about 45.00 or so for basic and 40.90 I think it was for premium the first run.

Service wise, the last run in '03 had flare adders, both major and minor, and an enchanter. Those are the two services that I sat for. Also there were the big scripts that were being added to items.

I took my regular 5X blessable backsword, had flares added, it altered, and then actioned for about 300K I *think* it was. I was not lucky enough to be one of the ones that got greater infusion, but the services were great, and there were many.

I *believe* it was either this event or the Artisian Faire that we lost a GM, so that held up activities. The GM's, GH's, and mentors all pulled together in Silverwood Manor, and invited any player in that need to be around friends for the loss.

After that, the date was extended, and GM's came in off and on, and continued working for people.

For me, and for Finis, the Anfelt was by far the very best item fest ever put on, bar none. The equipement off the shelf was great!

I believe all said and told, I spent 3.4 million on raffles, and another 7+ million on items.

Hope this rambling (I am not awake yet) helps you out.

Anyone know if those dwarven shields with the weapon harness were sold off the shelf at the last Anfelt, or was that a merchant service that tons of people happen to get?

(278 out of 550 tickets remaining...lookin' like non-premie people might actually have a chance at getting some tickets!)

The shields were sold off the shelf, and there was also a merchant who could add harnesses to shields you already had.

In terms of the number of services I received during the event, the last Anfelt was only second to the Dhu Gillywhack. I'll probably end up going just for the raffles, as I really have no need for off the shelf gear (barring little rp prop items).

Here's hoping I can either get a ticket when I get paid, or I can sneak a few days off from my other job. I went to the first but because of work/school I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time attending.

Yep, bummer. I'll be in Philadelphia that friday until monday evening for a cousin's wedding. That pretty much means I'll be going in Prime, heh.

To add to what Michiko said, it was Paul (Khaladon) that did those. It was one of the services I picked when I had stateroom on the first run of the WD. Khal's merchant char charged me one million coins to have it added then, which made me ask why so much when it was like 100K at the event that it was done at. Khal's response was that it is something he will never do again.

That's interesting. On the February run of the WD, he brought Snakestone around and did shield harnessing....and he mentioned in the WD chatroom that he might bring Snakestone around at Anfelt.

I'll be a bit pissed if his harnessing merchant doesn't come around again...though, I guess I might be able to live with snatching up a 4x harnessed shield and getting it enchanted somehow (if they're enchantable).

Not going.
Gutted I'll be missing the raffles. The rest doesn't matter.
