With no shield use you'll have crappy defense and since you don't have CM you'll have crappy AS.

If you're just going to power level for the first 30 days, drop the MIU and AS since you won't use them and you don't need runestaff defense. Put those points towards shield use.

You also don't need perception or first aid, but I understand if you want first aid for skinning.

How does shield use work these days anyway? I heard that it no longer directly adds to DS while in an offensive stance but gives you a chance to block incoming blows? Is that true?

Ok here, I am, I have 2 days until my immediate migration period is up... what do you all think.

Should i stick with pure mode, or go war mage, and at this level should i go one or two handers?

With all due respect, asking if you should go pure or war wizard are completely matters of personal preference. (Might as well ask us if you should play a rogue or a sorceror) If you tell us what you like playing/doing and your goals we might be able to recomend a path.

Your training looks pretty good to me. Although I wouldn't recomend keeping up the 1x perception unless you have a good reason, get it to a solid value and then use the extra points for more earth lore if you want a better stonefist. (Stonefist has a shitty way of skill progression, it's based on trainings in earth lore per level instead of total ranks, so quite literally you could have one command, level up without training in earth lore, and lose that command). If the earth lore is jsut for encumbrance/510/stoneskin/boils, then it's not as critical.

<< Should i stick with pure mode, or go war mage >>

From a mechanics standpoint it makes very little difference which you choose, you can kill critters either way.

It's an RP choice, I am very happy with my pure/runestaffer but many blademages seem to like their choice too.

Lets say I want to swing two handers or poles... should I change my stats at all to better provide for that?
