Hi, I was thinking of taking the wife on a cruise, anyone got any recommendations?

I haven't really looked into it

Price isn't a factor either

We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise. It was fantastic.

Bare minimum, get a room with a balcony. Anything less you'll be disappointed. Schedule all your excursions beforehand, but don't feel you have to have an excursion at every single stop.

Try to get the early dinner time. Sunscreen is your friend. Pay for the shuttle from the airport to the ship, you can schedule this beforehand. Getting cabs can suck.

Alaska or Canada.

I *highly* recommend Alaska during, say, the month of June or July.

If you’re going to the Caribbean go in April, May or June before hurricane season gets in full swing, plus the weather is great then, not to hot. If you want to party Carnival is great, or Celebrity. I second the advice above about balconies, money well spent. Do the shows on board most are really good. I personally liked dressing up for the dinners at night, so second seating was better. The casino's suck for most part, don't bother. You’re allowed to bring a certain amount of booze on board, if your wino’s like us then bring and give it to the Stewart, you will save allot of money on wine with dinner. Every port has people on the docks that will take you on tours and stuff for allot cheaper than the line's trips, more fun and flexible. Check out the ports of call before hand and figure out what you want to see.
Icruise.com or skyauction.com are good sites to check out.
