Unless I am misunderstanding the terminology used, Magic items do not work in the way you think they do. A magic item has a set amount of mana that can be imbedded into it. What spell were you looking to have imbedded? The amount of charges that an item can hold depends on the mana cost of the spell.

Regardless of mana costs? You could have one hold 40 charges of Thurfel's ward, or 40 charges of wizard's shield?

How can you tell which blank embeddible loot items fit your criteria of holding 40 charges, non crumbly and being rechargable? I might have one or two laying about if I knew how to find out :-)

get a bard to sing to the items they can tell you if its rechargeable. BUMP!

This hold true to blank embedibles too? I assumed you just got a message saying there's no magic in it now, but could be added, didn't realise you could also get the rechargable aspect when singing to these blank items.
