Searching works!


... sorta

I searched for the word Bullet (bullet, bullets, Bullets, bullets!, BULLETS, BULLETS!!!, etc) and it gets no replies. Even though in This thread (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?t=18217) it's mentioned at least 3 times.

I noticed it last night when I was searching for some other term.

Any clues?

Strangely enough, it doesn't pick up this post either.

As someone pointed out in chat earlier, when you try to do the advanced search and you get the box to choose the forums to search, the only ones showing are PC Discussions, Dueler's Arena and one of the mod folders. Perhaps the forums aren't open to be searched? Just a theory.

It could be the others in the conversion weren't indexed.

Its a common problem with the conversion. Just one other little thing to add to the list of things to touch base with Jelsoft on.

Would be really nice if Searching started working again.

I usually only pop in to do a couple of keyword searches (like my character name) to see if I've been talked about recently.

I'm not going to delve into hundreds of posting trying to find mention of me.

So, yeah, fix Search.

I seem to also have issues using the Search system.

I noticed as well that it says I have some private messages from before but cannot read them. Is that supposed to be like that?

Private message before the conversion to this software will show up on the list but will have no data in them.

Search is also still not working.

The search feature has been fixed. It might take another hour or so for the server to fully reindex all the posts, but the problem has been resolved.

Today's Posts also has been fixed.

Might end up taking another 3-4 hours before everything is actually fixed.After an hour, only 100000 posts have been repaired.Another 400000 to go...
