I just had a couple questions wondering if anyone could help. I know that aura and wisdom are stats that affect CS for sorcerers but how is it calculated? (Aura bonus + Wisdom bonus)/2 + spells known and all that? Also was wondering about torment. I know it has a backlash. How does it occur and does disciple affect this at all?

Also does anyone have a chart with the spirit recovery rate. I tried searching the posts but nothing is coming up.

its most likely to backlash if you are injured or stunned... especially if you are stunned after it has begun... the spell will attack the weakest target....make sure your foe is bloody, stunned hell even prone and that will help prevent it from turning on you... not garenteed but its a start...demonology comes into play here if i'm not mistaken so have those ranks up to prevent it from turing on you reguardless... most of the info is on the offical gs4 site... the search here is still busted...

The amount of TD reduction (or bonus) that a target gets is based primarily upon your stance. The more offensive you are, the larger bonus you get against your target (Neutral being zero). A target being stunned also lowers their TD, and being in a different room than the target gives the target a bonus. So basically for best results, a stunned target while you're in offensive will give you the largest bonus against their TD.

718 Torment, [TORMENT]
CS based attack spell. Normal warding roll for first cast. Subsequent rolls are based off target/caster stances (offensive is better in both cases) and +-3 per level difference. Uses unbalance crits, slashing crits and puncture crits. Not all crits will effect all creatures.
Training in Sorcerous Lore: Demonology will decrease TD penalty for having a spell prepared and for being in another room.
TD changes are as follows:
Offensive stance, -50.
Advancing stance, -30.
Forward stance, -10.
Neutral stance, +10.
Guarded stance, +30.
Defensive stance, +50.
Having a spell prepared, +50.
In different room, +25.
Target is stunned, -50.
A difference in level between caster and target, +/- 3 for each level different.

Also, the spell prep penalty can be trained off with demonology lore. At a rate of 1 TD/2 demonology ranks, you will end up with no penalty at 100 ranks. It used to be that anything over this cap yielded a bonus for having a spell prepped (bug). Hence why they changed it to 100 ranks instead of 50. I've heard that they never fixed the problem though, and that anyone over 100 ranks gets the bonus for having a spell prepped. I have not, however, verified it as true.
