I am just back in Gemstone after nearly a years absence, and I'm seeking advice with my 18 training wizard. Can some of you more experienced wizards let me know if I have flaws in my stat assignments or training regimine? Thanks.

It looks fine.

The only thing I'd consider is hauling ass with the Minor Elemental list to get 425 as soon as possible, you're going to miss that +25AS when you get there. Well that and the 400s list defense spells are the easiest to keep running.

I'd have to agree with getting your Minor Elemental spell ranks up more...the defenses alone are worth having. (If points are needed to get MnE up, I'd suggest dropping First Aid first, Perception next, and then maybe, if absolutely needed, drop a bit of the Arcane Symbols and Magic Item Use...)

If you can handle/do it, I'd also suggest dropping your Strength a tad (maybe down to a 0 bonus) and stick what you take from Strength into your Dex, Agility, or Aura. Dex adds to your 900's bolt/ball spell AS, Agility adds to your DS, and Aura will add to your Spirit points and your base mana pool (since Aura is the only mana stat for Wizards)...granted, since the wizard is a halfling, little to no Strength bonus means less encumbrance, which might be good, might be bad. I'll leave that to you to decide. :)

I would definetly tank STR and bump DEX. You would notice a significant difference in your bolt AS. Seeing bolt AS is the average wizards mainstay.

Pushing the 400's would be a great move, though I would likely tank FA, what wizard in their right mind is going to bend down and get their kickin roes all bloody with critter guts? You could turn those points for spells.

Other then those tweo points, you are on target.

If youre a pure you need to try and 2.5 or 3x in spells.

You shouldnt be training so heavily in AS/MIU drop those both to 1x. drop FA and PF to .5x

That should free up the points to 1x in all 3 spell circles.

I don't agree with Finiswolf on the STR and DEX suggestion. Not sure if he noticed but you are a halfling and that means really, really low encumberance thresholds. Being a halfling with 58 in Dex means you already have a 19 bonus. That is more than some races have when approaching endgame.

Unless it is part of your current RP, you can bag the Lore training until much, much later.
