New Year's Eve ftl

Does anyone else just not enjoy this holiday like me? I've never really liked it, I get so into Christmas that I'm generally burned out by the time New Year's eve rolls around. This year my GF is out of town, my friends keep calling me seeing if I want to come out. I, for one, will be staying home tonight.

Sleeping, hopefully. I don't mind New Year's, but I've had way too little sleep in the last three weeks, so my tolerance for people (people and their drunken idiocy) is at an all-time low. I think it best for everyone if I stay home, heh.

meh, opted not to hang out with the cousins. Just hanging home this year with my mom, stepdad (sans stupid son yay) and grandma. Watching my dog get pissed off and bark at the fireworks.

I'm glad I have a dog that doesn't get scared for stuff like that or thunder. He gets scared shitless for when its vet time though :whistle:

Boo for hangovers. I ended up at some cricket club with a load of men in suits and generally posh people. Lost an earring and got offended by some guy telling me that I obviously dye my hair weird colours to cover up my lovely personality. Also, instead of asking for my number this guy actually asked for my email address. WTF is that normal these days?

I went into Boston with a couple of friends on the train, one of them was so oblivious to the cold and ice and bit of snow and was having us trek all around creation. We got to a bar and I thought we were safe, then she decided she wanted to go to the pier to watch the fireworks, no matter what the weather was. So we did, but froze. At least the fireworks were nice.:)

I don't whine, but I wanted to be partying with my friends in Springfield.

Heh. I went to a friends party, and cried before I got there and was all blah half the night because I dropped Liam off at my mom in laws for the night, and I've never left him at night like that before.

You have no idea how hard it is for me to find a PSU hoodie down here in Florida. They look at me in the stores like i'ms ome sort of idiot because i'm A) looking for winter-wear and B) looking for something from a school 1500 miles to the north.

and i'm all like
"MY SISTER'S DOG ATE MY FRICKEN HOODIE AND I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO PENNSYLVANIA TO GET ANOTHER ONE."

In conclusion, after you graduate, do not get a dog. or live close to home.

Most of my friends went to NYC for New Years, and I've travelled too much in the past month to warrant going to NYC for two days (especially when I need to go back there on Friday, to fly to Jo'burg).

So I hung out with my engaged friend, Jason, who didn't go anywhere cause his fiance whips him hard (at least, that's what I said to him), and a bunch of his friends. His roommate Joe has a cousin who's home for the holidays from Camp Pendleton in CA, he's a Marine....


....I thought there was gonna be a ruckus....


....but then we all got drunk and me and Chris (the Marine) were best of friends....seriously...it was like, the Twilight Zone, or something.


...he had a hot girlfriend, though. Maybe I should get a crew cut and walk into a place and act like I own it, and then spout random drunken crap, and the hot women'll come after me.

Just before we passed out around 5, we were watching this show called 12 Oz. Mouse, on Adult Swim. I've never seen it before but let me say this: I wish this show was around when I still smoked pot. Because it blew my mind away, and I was only drunk. Anyone else seen it?

Went to dinner around 4, then visited some family til 10. Grabbed pizza on the way home, home by 11. Hung out in GS with my friend, explored the Gm houses and acted silly, just she and I on little rarely-played characters. Went to bed.

Oh, and I toasted midnight with milk. This will be the last time I'm pregnant on New Years.

I had to work yesterday, and was utterly exhausted by the time I got home - it was insanely busy from like 1:30pm on.

I got home and had three main goals for the night - make a good dinner, get drunk, get laid. I accomplished all three before 11:30pm and fell asleep. Jake shook me awake at 20 seconds to midnight, we counted down together and kissed, I fell back asleep.

Back at work today.

I went to the early show at a comedy club here in St. Louis. The guy was actually hilarious. I was really surprised and had a great time. I had a drink called tap shoes and then two long islands so I was pretty drunk by the end of it.

Then I watched You've Got Mail (hahaha I'm a dork) at home for a while to sober up, then went back to drinking. Lots of champagne and a couple shots of vodka made the Dick Clark New Year's show tolerable. :grin:
