Finished season 2 of this show, was wondering if there are any fans out there.

I saw the movie some time ago, but wasn't into it at the time.

With that said, I saw season 1 and season 2 (translated by fan, cause I don't think there's an official english version translated yet).

Pretty interesting stuff, is what I have to say.

I could tell by your avatar that you're a fan. I think the show is decent, though it ultimately tries to overcomplicate its plotlines with wordy dialog.

An official dubbed version is on adult swim. I find it a mostly juvenile treatment of what could be some really interesting subject matter further complicated by a bloated cast. The computer animation is painfully outdated, which isn't really a problem, but it's pointlessly overused. The action scenes, while short and rare, are generally pretty neat.

Skeeter I think is another fan. He had an animated version of the Laughing Man logo.

Yeah, I'm a GITS fan. I agree it can be pretty wordy at times. I still think they do a good job with the subject matter.

I'll definately have to keep an eye out for season 2. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm a fan as well, love it, I agree as well it can get overly complex with their long and wordy explinations.

Otherwise, I love watching it, when I can keep myself awake to watch it I do.

Apart from the Bautou focused book, I'm not digging it. Lots of respect for the creator, just not liking the directions gone down.

Bautou and the human guy (Saito?) are by far the most interesting characters. The old man is good but a little too much of a stereotypical old gruff guy character for me.

that's the thing, I really only got into GITS after I saw Standalone Complex.

Someone out there, please enlighten me about any books/comics related to this series..

I know the storyline may seem overly complex, but umm, I really thought the concepts they introduced were interesting.

There's (at least) a couple movies. Lost Innocence (I think) is the second one, and takes place some time after the Standalone Complex series finishes. If you liked the series you'll probably like the movie. Dunno about books/comics.
