Well, I guess the thread should be called 2nd best snack ever, since first is obviously Andy Capp's Salsa Fries. It's been freaking years since I've seen them for sale, and stores always just have Hot or Cheddar fries (2 thumbs down). However, on my ride back home from the parents house, I stopped in a gas station and bought up 3 big ass packages. I'm in heaven.

So what are your favorites?

Pocky is love. In your mouth.

^_^

Actually its a Japanese snack food. Its like a biscuit stick dipped in any number of things. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, strawberry yogurt, coconut, almonds, etc.

I don't know if they carry it in many mainstream grocery stores in the lower 48, I'm pretty sure Safeway doesn't carry it. Its easy enough to find at asian food markets though. Its REALLY easy to find in Alaska. Hell, the BX/PX here on base has it in the Commissary.

There needs to be a poll for greatest snack food evar... Theres a lot of yumminess in this thread.

Jazuela
12-29-2005, 05:05 PM
2 squares of unsweetened baker's chocolate
powdered sugar
a pat of butter

melt the chocolate slowly and carefully, don't let it boil. add the butter, stir it in when it starts to melt, with a wooden spoon. add powdered sugar to taste, stirring quickly. Once it's all blended smooth, take off the stove and eat with the wooden spoon while still hot.

Sick, sick, sick, sick, sick. But anyone with PMS will appreciate it for its simple godly chocolateness.

The whole point of a snack is that you don't have to take forever and a day to make it.

Fritos FTW

Some are worth it though, you know? Like if you take the extra time while making nachos to chop up some onions and cilantro and peppers. It pays off in the end.

hahaha.

I usually just make butter free pop corn, yogurt, or fresh fruit.

I don't even buy junk stuff for my apartment because I have like an addictive personality and all I'll eat is that if I have it. So, I save myself.

No. It then becomes a meal and therefore doesn't fit in this thread.

So baking some brownies or something like that makes a meal then, huh?

Drew2

It definitly doesn't qualify as "making a snack", no.

That's called "baking".

I guess you're right if you put it that way. If you have some brownies sitting around that are already made then that would be a snack, though.

Correct. Since it was not prepared at the time of said snacking, it is a snack, however unhealthy.

Ok, with the no preparation rule I would go with...

UTZ BBQ potato chips or Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby.

But, I consider a snack as something you eat because it tastes good, not hard to make, and when you are done you want more.

That doesn't sound like something a fat person would say. That would sound more like: "My favorite snack is a gallon tub of country crock!"

I take exception to this: I'm single, a man, and use the stove at least once a day. My dinner is usually omelettes, some form of pasta or stir fry meat and vegetables. I never use the oven, and I don't like microwave food or cold stuff, but I use the stove all the time. Gas is cheap too :) cheaper than ordering that is.

Breakfast foods for dinner and/or things that involve boiling water are obviously exceptions to this rule.

But stir fry, wow, that's fancy. Maybe it's cause I'm only 24 and I still don't mind Ramen. ;)

That is some gooooood french onion that I enjoyed growing up in NY. They just recently began to carry it down south but too bad my days of dip are over.

I wish they would start to sell Ziegler's natural casing brats/dogs down here. So fukin good.

The snack of choice this past year has been Sun dried tomato and basil chips.. YUM.

Popcorn with Tabasco squirted all over it.
