I have been trying to figure out this stupid little saying, and my friends and family are pretty worthless.

It is a stupid little witty line that says just because two events are close to each other in time or proximity does not mean they caused each other.

I can't think of it and I feel so dumb. Help me out.

Correlation does not imply causation.

^ not witty ^

Fairly witty. Way better than when I sit there and go. "Well the two events happened close to each other but that doesn't mean they caused each other." I sounded pathetic.

I always liked "Incompetence on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

And thus began the rule of she who would become known as "HarmNone the Harsh"!

Hee! That's been one of my favorites for years. In fact, I have a framed version that hangs behind my desk in my private office (not the one the public has access to). :D

OMFG I so need to remember this for work. SO appropriate. :D

*Edited by HarmNone to remove the rogue "i" from the quote, as I removed it from my original post. Damn thing sneaked in under the radar! :D *

The nicer version is "Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Define "Closed-door Policy"

Hee! Absolutely! My private office isn't open to the public, since it contains my sleeping couch and my bathroom/shower. However, my general office is open to anyone and that's where I spend most of my time when I'm in the office. :bleh:

I've heard that one, as well. In most cases, I've discovered that my choice fits the situation better. ;)
