I really like my guild in EQ, and up til now the leader has been great.
Someone started a thread in our forum about Lion, Witch and Wardrobe and another poster replied with basically a sermon about the movie and it being about salvation through the Bible.
Yet another poster (who is also a real life friend of mine) replied to please just realize that many of us just want to enjoy the movie and a stirring fantasy and so on. He ended his post with "for all we know, Jesus might have just been some loon anyway"
Our guild leader, instead of just editting the very last line (which may or may not have been overboard) deleted his entire post. This started a whole new thing of people taking sides. The guy who originally posted the 'sermon' post was all "she did the right thing he probably posted personal insults to me and blah blah"
And I was like no, he didn't. He posted HIS OPINION as you did yours.
Anyway, I am ranting here because though some people feel mods may have to step on toes now and then people also understand threads take on a life of their own and we can respond to a point as we see fit.
I told our leader I don't think she did the right thing, and then I log on and not only did she delete EVERY post regarding the incident, but I found yet another thread moved to a mod only section because one of the MODS editted ADDED to one of my posts in a way that not only did I not agree with or give permission for, but another mod felt out of line and MOVED THE WHOLE THREAD.
God I love the PC.
*To clarify, I started a thread listing known theives who would join guilds and empty guild banks or accept rares for trade skilling and then never return a product. I got these names and listed them with links from the official forums for our server.
One mod ADDED names to my post about two players, who were NOT theives. He did so without permission by me and then another mod (same level as me) moved the whole thread to a mod only forum because he felt I was starting a blacklisting thread based off of what the OTHER mod added. So I had to post replies stating what happened.
Oh.My.God. The first true drama in our guild :(
Lord help them when if I end-up co-leader.
