Are you fucking kidding me? Reno is a dump. The casino industry there is in decline. Laughlin is better, and Laughlin ain't that great.
Vegas!

Reno is a cheap knockoff of Vegas. Why go second rate?
Vegas Baby!
You should've went to Vegas this week. Cheapest week of the year for hotels.

Reno's only upside: Whores.

Vegas has whores o'plenty. They are the chicks hanging out at the center bar at 3am looking bored and drinking coffee.

Yeah, Laughlin wasn't impressive. But winning is winning.
I haven't been to Vegas in a few years, do all of the hotels have poker rooms, and are they all sold out like Reno looks to be this weekend?

For Christmas? There is no God in Las Vegas, its Sin City.
That being said, go to Las Vegas. I know from personal experience that the Bellagio is a great stay.
The Bellagio rocks.
I'll be at Ceasars this spring though. Perhaps we'll do the Wynne next year.

The Palms is the place to stay.
That is all

Hmm, guy goes to Vegas on Christmas looking for God....sounds like a movie plot.
Probably boring though...unless the guy was Sean Connery. And Angelina Jolie was God.
One of you artistic geniuses ought to run with this one.

Aladdin is soon to be Planet Hollywood, they're remodeling in stages and getting rid of the desert theme. I don't know how that'll play out for the Desert Passage shops, which are owned by a different entity, but anyway...
Yes, any halfway decent casino in Vegas (and even some not so decent ones) have poker rooms now. The rooms at the Palms are the pwn. Having worked there, I know firsthand that people make decent bucks of the bad beat jackpot hands there.

I heard there's a troll lurking in a basement somewhere in Reno.

Vegas, unless you want a mix of mountain scenery and a funky old gambling town. Reno's great if you're interested in horseback riding, because there are riding stables within 10 minutes. But for the glitz and glamour and sheer ridiculousness of crowds at every turn, there's nothing like Vegas.
If I go back to Reno, it'll be just for a day or two, on the way to somewhere else. And I'll definitely go for a ride in the mountains while I'm there. The scenery is amazing.

Reno?? what's reno?
My sister and her boyfriend are flying into Vegas Xmas day. She told me they are staying at New York New York which means nothing to me. She said they are going to try to do other things besides drink and gamble, but knowing them those will be the main activities.

I just got back Monday from Vegas. You gotta go, but be prepared for a weekend of crazy. It's not uncommon to start your partying at noon until 9 the next morning just to get up and do it again. Be prepared to pay 25-30 bucks cover for most/all clubs. You have to go to the ghostbar at the palms, when you get there, you'll see what I mean. Table minimums will be about 10 bucks (if you're lucky) but around 5 from around 5AM-11AM. Good strip clubs, rhino and olympic garden. Gambling is really good at the orleans and pretty good at the monte carlo. Go to the MGM around 11 in the morning, you'll get to see lions (it's nice for when you're dealing with a hangover and don't want to spend any money). You'll wait very long in lines for buffets. You'll be handed about 5 cards for prostitutes on every single corner by very sketchy looking guys who can't speak english well if at all. It's a fantastic city.

Ra, at the Luxor, is alright but not really anything special. The gambling at the Luxor blows. I stayed there, but it really is an awesome hotel. Especially when you're at ghostbar on the 55th floor outside overlooking the entire strip and you see the huge pyramid with it's lights in full effect. Rain's supposed to be good, it's downstairs from ghostbar. Hart and Huntington's tattoo is there too. A good restraunt that's actually cheap is Pasta Mia off the strip. Don't play roulette. Play blackjack or baccarat. Craps is alright to play too. That damn roulette table's so damned tempting. Don't expect to play poker and if you do, good luck finding a table, but if you want a poker like game, let it ride's pretty fun. I could really go on forever about vegas.

Reno does have some good qualities. Its cheap for one thing. You can get cheap food in Vegas too. I’m talking more about the tourists.
Reno is a stop on a road trip to Veil. And don’t forget Salt Lake. Good slopes up there.

The Bellagio is just all-around great. It also has the best showers I think I've ever been in... I was spending like two hours a day in the shower while I was there.

Vegas all the way. I went there in March for my first time.
Rio has blackjack table dealers clad in tiny little bikini's. Must see.
Let it Ride rocked, just don't play the progressive (never play progressive on any table, it's a sucker bet).
If you see 3 quarters on the sidewalk, pass on them. They are glued down. Yes I stopped in the middle of a busy ass Vegas sidewalk to try and grab them.
Oh and if you're on the strip and want to go downtown, get a cabbie. The wife and I decided to try and save a few bucks by walking. While the ends are very nice, the middle were quite seedy and I was in fear most of the walk.
The worst place to gamble in Vegas? Don't play the slots in the airport. I survived 3 days in town gambling but then lost $400 in two hours waiting at the airport.
And three cheers to a city with no open container laws!!!! Feel free to walk the streets with your favorite booze!

I'm guessing that was only your first or second trip to vegas. You sound like a kid who just touched his first boobie.
Unfortunately your Vegas advice is horrible. Before your next trip to vegas, I have one piece of advice for you

That is bullshit. The police specifically told us we couldn't walk around the strip with a keg.
Also, if you're going to strip clubs go to the Sapphire.
Thnak me later.
