10x short sword based 2 lb katana with paralysis flares

Wondering how much my short sword based katana would go for...

a serrated double-edged silver katana with a beaked sea snake wrapped around it - Wrapped around the katana is a beaked sea snake staring at you with malice in its eyes.

10x short sword. Weighs 2 lbs.
Extremely rare paralysis flares added.
Will paralyze the victim for a few rounds.

Tap
You gently tap your double-edged katana and the beaked sea snake hisses as it hurriedly slithers down the length of it in a tight spiral. Just as quickly, it turns and slinks back to its original position.

Rub
As you touch your katana, the beaked sea snake recoils defensively and rattles its tail.

AS: +656 vs DS: +499 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +73 = +265
... and hit for 83 points of damage!
Hard blow breaks the femur!
The Ithzir seer is knocked to the ground!
The beaked sea snake hisses a warning, then lashes out in a blur and strikes the seer. Its eyes glint coldly as it momentarilly stares at its victim.
... 30 points of damage!
Good blow to left leg!
Roundtime: 5 sec.

You notice an Ithzir seer (rooted)..


Price hasn't been decided yet, but the flares cost 25m to add to it at 9x, and then 7000 premie points to enchant up to 10x.

Prefer coins but willing to listen to interesting trade offers.

The flares activate about 1 in 3 and YES they work on other players.

Do the flares bind them or what? How long does it last?

It's similar to bind.. but it actually "roots" them in place and does damage at same time. About 5 rounds or so on average i've noticed.

If the rooted thing is the same as when you do CMAN CPRESS, then it also means the critter can't get up, if it's been knocked down.

I agree Backlash, this would be perfect for anyone who mstrikes, since it's VERY light and fast and can paralyze multiply critters in the room in one attack.

Thats a sexy looking sword, fallenSaint. I don't think it could actually be used in combat in any actual kenjutsu style, though. Katanas are single edged for a reason.

The paralyze flare works much like the bola flare. More like a slow/can't leave the room effect to a bind... If it's the same one that I saw someone with from this years EG...

I seriously doubt the "root" effect lasts for 5 rounds (about 25 seconds), especially considering the source.

Like I said, the duration isn't constant and is on average 5 rounds or so from what I have seen.. Unless you have tested the flares yourself, please keep your unnecessary comments to yourself.

Eat a dick. It's not an unnecessary comment when you've outright lied about countless items on these boards in the past. I just don't like to see people swindled.

The root doesn't last 5 rounds. Post a screen capture. If the "average" was 5 rounds, then it must sometimes last 7 or 8 rounds. Anyway, post some proof or spare me the bullshit.

There are a number of spells in the game that give the "rooted" effect (Tangleweed for example), and the longest rooting I've seen is 1-2 rounds.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rooting is basically for show, as it has no mechanical effect other than stopping the critter from leaving the room. I don't even think it provides any DS drop.

Critters will definitely still cast spells, they still attack, etc., etc.
