I got this link sent to me by one of my friends wondering what the hell it is, what is it from, and what the purpose of it was.

I was born in the 80s, but don't remember this far back. Hopefully one of the older members can shed some light on this bewildering video.

WARNING: Do not view the following video if you have a weak stomach or bad memories of the 80s.

Wow, that was most excellant.

The only explanation I have is that the Bears, for reasons unknown to rational men, did a series of music videos during their Super Bowl year. There's one with Jim McMahon, and Walter, and all the rest of the Bears, which is fantastic. I believe it's also called the Shuffle, of some sort.

Addendum: AH yes, The Super Bowl Shuffle.

Yeah, Super Bowl Shuffle is awesome... But I understand what that is.

This Grabowski makes zero sense to me. It has no football related lyrics, it doesn't even mention the Bears.

It's just Ditka in a random song about the Grabowski's.

I remember a lot about the 80s, but this looks like someone’s nightmare. No idea what it was. Probably have to ask someone from Chicago who was alive at the time.

Most of the league's 30 teams would be hard pressed to find one all-world talent on their rosters. Absent game-breaking talent, Ditka has tried to model a team in his own image. The word Ditka used for his type of player is a "Grabowski." What is a Grabowski exactly? Many analysts have taken a crack at it. Essentially it is a player like Ditka himself was--a guy with abundant professional skill coupled with undying will. In Ditka's words, it's a guy with a work ethic.

So the video is kind of a public service announcement about hard work?

Wow, the 80s were awesome.

Was it for a TV show or something?

and I can't believe you people don't know the super bowl shuffle.

I was like 2 and knew the whole song by heart. I just got through chastising a female friend of mine for not knowing the greatest song of all time written and performed by the greatest sports team of all time.

Oh, I knew the Super Bowl Shuffle, most people do. For some reason I always thought McMahon wore a headband during it.
