Man, today was fucked.

So, anyway. I'm home in chicago. Usually, I set my limit @ 4-5 days tops @ the cri b because of dumb shit but I'm here for like three weeks...fuck what a mistake

..Yesterday I drop my buddy off at the airport on the way to Korea and he asks me to drop by his house so his moms can go grocery shopping. Well, his fam lives in the projects, his brother is disabled and his two sisters are both cracked out. Their kids were taken away except for the 16 and the 18 year old girls.

So, I get there and the only one there is the 16 year old and I ask where her grandma is, and she's in the hospital. Fuck. Well, she's been having problems with her back for like 6 years (Which has included me driving her to the hospital at 3 am begging me to kill her while my buddy is in the seat next to her) and I don't think that much of it cuz she's been doing alot better. So I go check out the kitchen and it's fucking empty. Nothing. There isn't amotherfuckering thing in this house. So, I tell her to grab her shit so we can go to the store. I buy like 100 bucks in groceries and come to find out she hasn't been going to school because she doesn't have the cash to pay for bus fare. So, I trip, give her some cash and try and tell her she needs to take her ass to school.

Meanwhile, my other boy calls me and tells me to come by; It's important. I haven't actually been over there since I've been back because he's not really on hsit and i've been in pain cuz of my surgery. So, I go over there and he tells me about how he got jumped on my his baby mother's boyfriend and how he ended up getting into a fight with him because the bmbf came to his house last thursday. Of course, I'm like man, you need to get off that bs.

So anyway, I go home, take a percocet cuz I'm in agony and go to sleep. I get a call at like 10pm from his mom talking about he's been arrested and she wans to know if I have 2k for bail money. Fuck all that, so I drop off 500 bucks @ the crib because him and his family took me in when I was 16 and had no place to live and took care of me when they didn't even really know me, and I'm talking to his mom and his lil bro is fucking on probation for some dumb ass shit. Which is fucking with m cuz he's only 16 and he was like 11 when I left the crib. So, I'm gonna end up trying to get his PO to let him live with me in DC which basicly means I just inherited a kid except I skipped the cool phases and went right to the bad ass motherfucking punk phase. Awesome. Oh well.

So...I'm driving back home and I'm about ot make the turn on 80th and cottage grove a cop pulls behind me. I'm like fuck, PLZ GOD DON'T SEARCH ME because I have my springfield .40 on me but luckily he didn't and he only took my license and gave me a ticket. So now I gotta pay 105 bucks + registration for the only traffic course to get it back. Awesome, so basicly I'm at like 900 bucks today alone and I spent maybe 3 hours outside.

I got pulled over pulling out of my drive by an old buddy from college last year. He was giving me shit hardcore. I was slightly drunk and I thought I was going to jail without a doubt the way he was busting my balls.

Turned out he was near my hood so just swung by to fuk with me.. I guess I had it coming because we paid a chick to handcuff him to a bed while 3 other chicks spit several packs of gum into his pubic hair and left him there. Who says I don't have a sense of humor.

Tijay, I got that from Daniel's own words. I assume he saw a doctor for his surgery, and the doctor told him that his excessive drinking was a possibility or a contributing factor in his requiring it. Otherwise, he was looking for some sort of histrionic attention.

Wayne, I considered, briefly, arguing your point, but I have to agree. For the most part, I've worked with addicts who WANTED to get clean, as opposed to trying to make one get clean (huge difference, the later being nearly impossible, followed by her being stabbed to death).

Perhaps calling people drug addicts is how Daniel makes friends because it's familiar to him, but most normal people find it annoying, especially when it's coming from someone this hypocritical. I find it annoying simply because canned things like that are all he seems to have when attempting to insult me.

I do have sympathy that people in his life are exactly the life he's tried to project onto me by his insults though. That's a sad existence :(

Perhaps given the context, an attack on American culture would indeed have been more fitting.

Having said that. I don't place an attack on race any lower on the scale of shitty remarks as I place an attack on culture.

At the end of the day, we are all members of the great race that we call human. I would like to think that we can at least show a little respect for our respective culture and heritage. If one cannot do that then perhaps a public message board is not the place to express such opinions.

Well, I'm sure his bump was something like "that's what I thought about you" or something equally retarded.

So, I'll give a quick update on the family I was talking about initially.

The middle brother has really fallen off the track and gotten himself into a bunch of bullshit. He really tried to emulate what we were doing when he was growing up and never really realized it was for a reason. So, he's much more hardcore than anybody else. He's currently on probation for Armed robbery and has a kid and he's only 17 years old.

My buddy is still kinda floundering. He moved out to the suburbs to give himself some space from the daily bullshit but he's had a hard time trying to find a job. So who knows how long that will last. His cousin Joe and or other buddy was doing well. He had been working at Comcast steadily for 4-5 years, but he got hit with a stray bullet last year and had to take administrative leave. Last month, he got hit by some guy on a motorcycle and shattered his pelvis. He's looking at a six month recovery time. Thankfully he had insurance and will be able to pay the medical bills and his family is doing well enough to support him during that time.

I'm currently about 6 grand in the hole on my credit card because in May I flew out the first buddy, his mother, his step father and his little brother to my college graduation. It was the first time any of them had ever left Chicago. I put em up in a 5 star hotel and showed em around the city for the week. It hurt my liquidity because instead of paying off the debt I'm sopping upabunch of stocks into my IRA and 401k while the stock market is down.

It was totally worth it though because it finally got through to the youngest brother. By the end of the week he was actually thinking about shit like college seriously, which is more than I or anyone in his family could have ever said at his age. It was awesome. So, I've been following up with him to make sure he's taking care of his shit in school. Now he just has to defy the odds for another 7 years.
