I still have a regular taskbar, it's just on auto-hide. ObjectDock is handier because it not only has the time, it tells me the weather, % CPU being used, and lets me open those fine programs you see listed in one click.

Quick launch buttons do the same thing, are smaller, and can be hidden with two clicks.

If you are in the least bit concerned about your CPU usage, and you're not in a fullscreen game so you can actually see that bar, then something is terribly, terribly wrong with your computer.

That shouldn't happen. I can have Winamp playing and hold down B for a very long time without anything close to noticeable lag.
