Ok I need some help finding some software that would be using in an oil change business. Something that can track visits, print invoices, etc. Something I can DL for free.

Something like: http://www.lubesoftware.com/index.htm

as an example. I would love for it to run on a windows environment and nothing that would require an uber machine to do so. My cousin owns a fast lube place and their system crashed and the previous owner owes a shit load of money to the software dev place so they won't fix it so he's out in the cold. Anything would be great but I'm at work so I can't do any intense searching.

Don't fail me player's corner!

Why not just write your own MS Access.

I'd write you one but I would put code in there to take those fractions of a cent and put them into an account.

Much like Superman 3. Or Office Space.

nevermind just noticed the FREE part. If you can pwn MS Access and some VB it is still a very cheap option.

I hesitated clicking the link to a place called lubesoftware, but i went to their site and am dissappointed at:

"We will send you our free demo on a CD"

Yeah, but looking at the screenshots that's what I'm after. Make it happen Wezas. If I was a hologram in an R2 droid I'd say "You're my only hope." But I'm not. So I won't.

Oh so that wasn't the software company they fell out of favor with?

Nope. I want something new, simple, free (by whatever means) it's going to be a stand alone station so I could care less.

Well after reviewing that software it is infact MS access and $369 is pretty damn cheap considering the hours that prolly went into it.

Writing something that complex from scratch would take many many hours of dev.. if you can break it down to the bare min of features etc you would need I may be able to scrounge up a "free" ms access copy and throw something together that can get you by.

I did notice they have a 30 day money back guarantee... the best option would be to buy it.. send it to me.. let me rip the code/forms/etc and then you send it back for a refund.

FYI I'll give you full office 2k3 if you need it. To include Access.
