I didn't think Claid were enchantable? I'm just under the assumption that critted weapons were not ET-able.

A Vaalorn-themed ora claid got raffled off on the Promise...guy was wondering how much it might go for on the market.

They aren't enchantable by the most common enchanters (players of wizards). They are enchantable by merchants and now by premium points. Plus the Fp let loose some 2x to 3x claids.

So what are the going rates now on a 1,2 or even three X Claid at the present time?

5,000 points.

(Equation to figure out claid enchanting is: ((40 + 2x) * 100) where x is the +enchant you're going for)

5,000 - holyschnikies. Thats 4+ years worth of premium contribution?

Thanks for the equation Mgoddess.

Yeah just buy a mithril claid for less than 5 million, they are common as dirt.

My friend got a 1x lightened, zested claid on FP. No clue how much he'd sell it for.

Not that I have any intention of selling it, but how much would a black laen claidhmore with 10 points of extra critical weighting added?

On the 10 points of extra weighting, it is something that was added by a merchant quite a number of years ago before the change-over from ICE.

My understanding, now somewhat vague after a few years away from actively playing GS3 and never being a very savvy game numbers player in the first place, is that it dramatically improved the claidhmore's already unrivaled critical blows rating.

Another visible result is that the 10 points of added weighting also added a further Attack Strength reduction. Now that I'm recalling it, I can't remember what the actual total reduction was or whether it was a point for point reduction or if it was halved.

My best recollection is that it was an overall -6 to AS when weilding the weapon. That would suggest an added -11 to AS from the critical weighting right?

So you have an old style claidhmore (-10 to AS) that is made out of laen (+15 to AS) and then the 10 points of added weighting (-? to AS) for a total of (I believe) -6.

Anyway, this turned into rambling that went on far longer than I had any intention of it going. Needless to say, the weapon is one I always enjoyed and my recalled perception unsupported by actual data is that it was quite savage and fun to hammer things with. No idea what it might be worth though.

Invar Claids (+2) are sold off the shelf, I believe, which enables you to hit magical creatures.

Unless they changed, those do NOT allow one to hit magical creatures.

There was an issue with those when first released so there SOME floating around that could hit magical only critters, but then they changed it so none of the others sold could.

Take a 2x claidh price and add 10-20 mil would be my guess.

Some invar claidhmores have an enchanters mark, and they can hit magical critters, there are still a few invar with no mark sneaking around that can also hit them.

A razor sharp invar claidh somewhere that is +7 with no mark that can also.

And also a few mithril ones that won't hit magical critters at all. And I can think of... 2 steel claidhs that will hit magical.
