I just discovered these and thought I'd let others know. It's kind of neat yet bizarre at first thought. I present to you: the seeing eye horse (http://www.guidehorse.org/).

What a nifty idea! They're cute, small, intelligent, and long-lived. Besides, judging from the picture at the top of the page, you can even buy them tennis shoes! :)

Seen programs on it before and it seems to work really well. Those little guys really know their stuff.

So, you're not gonna believe this story.
In Kavango, where I live, there's a bunch of us American volunteers. Also, there's British volunteers, and we've become good friends with one of them, Rachel. She has a weird view of what Americans do/eat/whatever. Once, she made us this pie, called Banoffee pie, which no American in the region (and we asked like 8 people) had ever heard of, though she insisted "it was an American tradition". Banana plus toffee = yum, though. We told her it can't be American, cause we call it caramel, not toffee.
Anyways, another thing she told us, was that in America, we use miniature ponies as seeing eye guides. We've mocked her for at least 5 months for this view, and ridiculed her for thinking Americans would be stupid enough to use horses as seeing guide animals. Now, I don't know what to do - I'm all in a tizzy.

You're going to have to eat pie: humble, if not banoffee. Which does indeed seem to be a British thing and not American from the google results. I've never heard of it previously and according to the Banoffee Pie Page, it was created at a restaurant in East Sussex, England. It has though since spread to Pizza Hut.

OMG those horses are so cute! Heehee the little guy with the sneakers is adorable.
I think that's a real neat idea as opposed to having a dog. It definitely would be helpful if someone's allergic to dogs.

I HATE HORSES.
My ex used to ride horses and she talked me into going to her little horsie show.
They smell like shit, they're mean, and i'm allergic to them. Of course, at this horse show, they all had to go change and they're like, "Oh, hold onto the horses while we change"
I did, reluctantly. All three horses wnated to go in opposite directions and something scared them and off they went. At least they never asked me to hold onto the horses again.
