Figured I would start a catch-all car thread. Fucking transmission is shot and being re-built on my 2000 Sable with 72k miles. How sad is that. On a brighter note, I'm planning on getting rid of the shitbox once the 2007 Camry comes out. Pictures below:

Camry's are awesome. I have a '94 Camry I bought used for 6k with 20k miles on it. I've since put 70k more miles on it, and it still drives like the day I got it. Rock solid. Except it takes too long to warm up, which sucks now that winter's here.

Replacing the 92 Chev Pickup and the 98 Explorer with the following. Volvo in 2006, BMW in 2007. Yep, thats the plan.

My 2006 Jetta TDI is being built in right now. 40+ miles to the gallon on the highway, and a biodiesel station in Phoenix! Yay hippies!

Oh, I also have a 64 Olds F-85 Cutlass with partial police interceptor options :)

I'll fucking destroy you all, you emo fuckers with my fucking unbelievable RX-7.
Last night I flipped out and revved the engine at a stop sign and the crossing people, animals and cars within a 100 meter radius were reduced to pissing their pants in fear and respect.
Fuck you all you retards, my RX-7 doesn't give a SHIT about clemency...

Yeah cuda is a dream car for me too.

That being said I had to get a ride into work because God hates me. My altenator went out and I have to get it replaced. Which wouldn't be too bad because generally they run 60-100 bucks and I can replace it myself............. EXCEPT!!!!!!!! I drive a Merc Cougar and in order to get to the damn thing I need a lift and about 4 hours of shop time. Going rate of 80-90 bones an hour for shop time + parts = Me never being unpoor. It's always something.

Currently driving an unmodified 2005 SRT-4. I love that car. Once I put a few thousand into it, I should be into the 400+ HP range. Not too shabby for a Neon.

One of these days, I'd like to own an 87 Buick GNX. Could just about do tractor pulls with that thing.

Wezas
12-13-2005, 11:14 AM
SRT-4's have a rediculous amount of HP for that small/cheap of a car. They're one of the few cars that were actually underrated on horsepower on most of the specifications released. It was a tough decision for me to choose between the SRT-4 and the Spec-V.

Skirm wishes her neon had power.

Back in the States, I have a 1994 Lebaron. This is not the actual car itself, but mine is in the same condition. The paint job is still flawless. I don't have these nice rims, though.

Over here in Ireland I have wank.

My condolences on the Jetta. I once owned a Jetta it was the crappiest car I have ever owned. Unfortunately they are made in Mexico.

Speaking of Mexico, I'm constantly looking for a VW Bug ('67-'73ish) in decent shape locally to be a beater car.

My first car was a '71 Superbeetle. That thing was bad ass.

>>Is that a concept car?<<

I'm assuming that's the upcoming Cobra. Looks a bit different than the shots I've seen, but if it is, it'll be running about 450 ft lbs of torque, and over 450 HP at the crank. Freaking monster.

I don't really like base model mustangs or the GTs, just because I can't spit in Phoenix without hitting three of them. But I'd drive that thing in a heartbeat.

True. :(

What I would really like, would be to have the SRT-4 engine without all the cosmetics differentiating it from a normal Neon so I could be like a Q-ship and catch people unawares.

Excepting that, I'd love that Barracuda too.

I havent liked the new stang styles since the 99's. I DO like the new cobra thought obviously. I have had 91 and 95 gt's but, goddamn cop magnets that they are (lead foot doesnt help) lost my license for me so I had to get my slow ass suv. Who knew the state of Ga frowned upon having 24 pts on your license and 13 speeding tickets.

I'm not too sure what stage that pic posted earlier was as far as concept or whatever... but this is the Shelby Cobra GT500 ... I might have to consider trading in when it comes out. It's real nice but I couldn't justify the cost. If I start getting "bored" I'll get some forged internals and a whipple SC, much cheaper.

Saw one of these up close today, kind of liked how they looked. Although the rear end of the car reminds me of the remodeled 90's version of the buck regal.

It's not the concept car, just an aftermarket hood and spoiler amongst some other things.

The new Cobra is gonna weigh 3850 pounds, 4100+ with driver and 10 gallons gas. Dog shit. I loved the car until I heard that.

I had a feeling it wasn't the actual cobra because of the headlight shape, assumed it was just badging and body mods. I didn't realize it was so bloated... so yeah, I'd rather have a Whipple SC'd GT (with the right internal reinforcements) than the cobra.

As for the color, I love windveil blue (uh.. except for it's name, I don't love that, I call it gunmetal blue), I haven't seen any other that color around where I live and all I've gotten is compliments (in person, in picture I don't always get compliments), I factory ordered mine in order to get that color. I was talking to a guy with a yellow gt vert outside of a store and after seeing mine he said "I picked the wrong color". My second favorite is probably the mineral grey, or if you're getting that sweet eleanor kit, satin silver.

I'm going to take a guess... yours is black (er, just went back to your original post... heh, you said it was)? Just personal preference really, I'd be happy with primer if it was that or no Mustang.

Guess I'm partial to the late 80's stangs. My brother had one that he SC'd and was able to get ~600hp to the wheels on. So sad the day he sold it (I still think his new wife made him).

I took it out of the garage one day to jump start my car that was dead. I took it around the block. I got up to 3rd gear. I just about shit myself.

Here's my car. 2004 Lexus IS300.

That said, Anticor, what the hell shops are you going to that want 80-90 an hour? I work at a Lexus Dealership, our shop rate is 95 an hour, which is kind of average for luxury brands, but a toyota shop for example, is 60 an hour, and most independant shops charge 45-55 an hour for labor. The Chilton's Flat Rate book says 1.5 hours for the alternator on your car, so really it shouldn't be too bad on the wallet all things considered.
