Heh. Oddly, he neglects to mention that this character is roundly despised by nearly everyone. Go figure.

HarmNone deems this one a Very Bad Buy

He must have found a new soul to buy.

Scott

And this describes the complete stupidity of Sean.

Izbin (at level 49), your skill bonuses and ranks are:

Name: ************ Race: Half-Elf Profession: Ranger (shown as: Scout)
Gender: Male Age: 59 Expr: ********** Level: 49

DAMN! I couldn't figure out it was him cause he blocked out the name!

Scott

OH and I forgot......

Buyer pays transfer fee. Winner takes over the account.

How stupid can a person be?

Maybe he's finally given up on playing GS and posting here. I mean... we can hope, can't we?

That is TOOOO FUNNY!!! *laughs*

Chadj
10-12-2003, 06:16 PM
Nah, hes gonna have another character... He says it comes with one mil, but more can be negotiated.. So that would mean he has more that is going somewhere.. And i doubt its being donated to charity. So unfortunately, i have a feeling hes not leaving GS.

It is against Simu policy but they dont enforce it because they make money off it.

Artha

Which policy does it violate?

Unless something has changed drastically, it is not against policy to sell a character. The PTB have stated that it is frowned upon, but that it is not a punishable offense.

At one time, I believe, it was said that Simutronics was waiting for the Sony case to get through the courts before coming down solidly on one side or the other of this matter. :)

it is against policy.

Here ya go from the Terms & Conditions you agree to when you log in.

9. General
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
User may not use, copy, modify, sublicense, rent, sell, assign or transfer rights and privileges granted pursuant to this Agreement, or the Services, except as expressly provided in this Agreement.

I just read policy 9 and didn't see anything about transfers not being legit. Here's the relevant portion (portion before plat only portion):

GemStone III Player Policy: Transferring Characters

Under no circumstances will Simutronics transfer an existing character from one online service to a different service. If you decide to switch online services, you will have to either roll up a new character from the new service, or continue to use the old service to play your old character.

Even within the same service, characters generally cannot be transferred from one account to another, except in certain specific situations. For example, if a user moves, he or she may require a new account, which would require the transferring of the player's character from the old account to the new one.

To request the transfer of your character from one account to another, use the GemStone III Feedback option. All requests to transfer a character to another account must be approved by the management of that particular service.

Its always been illegal on EverQuest.

Scott
10-12-2003, 07:50 PM
Yeah, just like Gemstone III. It was basically frowned apon, but nothing was done. Sony took it up with ebay and ebay now will not allow any everquest characters or platinum up for sale. An everquest coin/character sale will be shut down before it's finished. It put a huge dent in character/plat sales.

StrayRogue
10-12-2003, 07:52 PM
No, Everquest had characters deleted and accounts frozen, if you were caught. Trust me on this ;)

Hope someone likes their purchase of a character people hate on sight and is probably walking a very thin line with Simutronics these days. Izbin likes to bring his OOC conflicts into the game, and attack strangers because they badmouthed Ganyru on the boards here.

Hulkein

Incase anyone was still curious as to why Izbin was never banned, he had a Plat account. Simutronics only cares about money, not you or I. Hate the game, not the player.

Kurili
10-13-2003, 01:07 AM
And who is/was he in Plat? Any idea, or just idle rumors?

Assuming idle rumor, since there's no response then.

Plat is a lot of things, but I doubt it's responsible for Ibzin.

Whoever the new character is, I expect Sean's true colors will surface soon enough.

awww... He removed his name from the auction.

StrayRogue
10-13-2003, 06:17 AM
Its alot more difficult to track EQ characters, simply because there are a shit load more of them. But believe me, they are pretty harsh when they catch you.

Betheny
10-13-2003, 07:22 AM
Good for Sony.

I hope Simutronics is next.

StrayRogue
10-13-2003, 07:23 AM
It won't be. They are too greedy/desperate for the money.

Betheny
10-13-2003, 07:24 AM
Personally, I think they'd make a lot more money if they took such action, and promoted RP instead of power-gaming. It would attract more serious roleplayers, lower overhead by removing the need for wasting GM time on disciplinary action... there are all sorts of valid reasons.

Weedmage Princess
10-13-2003, 09:30 AM
No, Kurili..he was in Plat. It's true.

But he left before I confirmed it was him. He was Revan or something to that effect. I was gonna talk to Khaladon or Elbrion about it...find out the skinny on if Izbin/Ganryu was banned, etc, and why was he allowed there.

I didn't know him in Plat, he just told mentioned it one time to me.

Hi Sean... too bad ya fucked up and used 'Gangsta' as your mood. Everyone knows you somehow consider yourself a M&M in the making, what with that pathetic horseshit rap attempt on your web site..

Fucking loser, add your slang to it and it's a dead match. When the fuck are you going to grow up?

Ya'll need to get a life. I know the person whom Sean sold Izbin to, for something like 300 dollars. Then in turn, that person is now selling Izbin on e-bay. Perhaps he figured out what a bad rep Izbin had (heh). However, I know for a fact it was not Sean who put Izbin on e-bay. Izbin has been out of Sean's hands for something like a month now. Cuz it was about a month ago, that this kid who bought Izbin offered to sell him to me. No thanks I say!

This phrase gets thrown around alot on these boards, and really, it's lost all meaning. My eyes glaze over at the sight of it, and it becomes something like background noise. You know it's there, but you just don't hear it anymore.

Ya'll need to get a ..... new comeback.

Haven't seen Scarface myself, but I think the people in that movie are more Gangsters than Gangstas.

They aren't gangsters in Scarface (not the Pacino version anyway), they are drug-dealers. Big difference.

Warriorbird

:shrugs: It being a Sean pose or no, that movie has vast influence on the "gangsta" culture, hey.

Whether Izbin is sold or not, or Sean or not, one thing is for sure: Izbin and any other of Sean's characters will be wearing a very short leash with the GMs. A choke chain I hope.

You see Izban Unisun the Wizard.
He appears to be a Dark Elf.
He appears to be very young and very tall. He has piercing dark eyes and pale skin. He has long, braided jet black hair swept back from the temples. He has sharply-curved pointed ears.
He has a gold-studded obsidian pipe clenched between his teeth.
He has some minor cuts and bruises on his right leg.
He is holding a wooden shield in his left hand.
He is wearing a gold ring, a crystal amulet, a silver V'Tull symbol, a long dark spidersilk cloak, a black V'Tull symbol, a silver dwarven wand belt, a red V'Tull symbol, some blackened veniom-edged leathers with a shattered skull tooled on the chest, a black eyepatch, some rugged spike-soled boots, an imflass threaded war harness, a V'tull crest, a gleaming onyx nose ring, some deathstone ridged combat gloves, and a matte black pack.

Gah, please let this be some odd coincidence
