Why are there so many dang lawyers, and not yet enough psychologists (for these two, and others) ?

No, they never do. There's some strange combination of masochism and a compulsion to get the last word that just forces some people to continue climbing up onto that little stool for the sole purpose of letting people throw baseballs at them to knock them back into the water. And they don't even get a dollar out of it.

I think it plays into a martyr syndrome so they can turn off the computer mumbling to themselves about how horribly everyone treats them despite being such a wonderful person. The worse the treatment, the more it validates them.

Bizarre is the perfect word for this behavior. No matter how many times one tells these people to just STFU and quit asking for trouble, they seem unable to do so. It's like some kind of mad compulsion! :S
