12-04-2005, 03:43 PM
Couldn't you just buy yourself something with the price a ticket would have cost to make yourself feel better?
Or are these items really uber?

Bobmuhthol
12-04-2005, 03:47 PM
How much is it to attend? $75?

You can't buy the good items for that much.

StrayRogue
12-04-2005, 03:47 PM
It's not that what pisses me off. It was the whole shitty way they were sold and how Kitrina won't even aknowledge the fact they even made a mistake or that it was even a TAD bit unfair.

My new guitar arrives next week, so fuck it anyway.

I think it's cool that they're releasing a ton of uber items (or supposed to be uber, anyway) into the game. Should we take bets on how long before Ardwen owns them all? :saint:

There's some real junk in there like the sheaf and swimsuit, but if the items are like the ones they look to have been duplicated from, most will be worth more than the price of entry.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if the stuff that was exceptionally crit padded from the first one had that temporary padding on this one?

Brattt8525
12-04-2005, 04:23 PM
I am fairly certain that no matter what you happen to get you will be able to sell it for the cost of the ticket if not alot more.

I am just glad I am going and will be open to trades/selling of what I win if I don't need it.

I love the Cholen sheaf myself, mostly for its show.

"The sheaf is finely crafted with an intricately carved scene of the light god Cholen. In the scene, you see a very special moment in one of Cholen's appearances."

Given who Cholen is and it's "a very special moment"....

12-04-2005, 05:41 PM
What kind of stats do the existing shell armors have?

StrayRogue
12-04-2005, 05:43 PM
Shell armor is shit, generally. Basically around the 3-5x mark, little to no padding. It has a nob that you turn which will take you to your own little sanctuary thing.

Brattt8525
12-04-2005, 05:46 PM

Kitrina was doing in game messages for a while to clue people in on tickets going on sale.

Skirmisher
12-04-2005, 05:50 PM
Oh...hrm.

A saw this nice metal breastplate that was i think 4-5x crit padded and had self mana ..urm...the small statue spell...(mind won't work). Do you all think that would be the kind of item they might be offering?

StrayRogue
12-04-2005, 05:53 PM
Yep.

Kitsun
12-04-2005, 06:07 PM
I did some sorting on that list to get a breakout of item types...

37 Armor, shields or accessory items
12 Tomes, each seem to represent a town
10 Cloaks, 4 of which seem to be feature hiding
9 Clothing type items
5 Containers, beware of suckass weight reducers
2 Instruments
32 Jewelry looking things (You'd hope they're all magical too but I broke these out)
35 Magical Items (Rods, scroll stuff, things that counterparts DID cast stuff)
55 Miscellanious items (5 homes, banks, traps, etc)
90 freaking weapons. (11 blunt, 1 Katar, 7 brawl, 30 OHE, 12 poles, 4 ranged, 4 staves, 4 thrown, 17 THW)

StrayRogue
12-04-2005, 06:08 PM
So there will be some left over items after the event.

Kitsun
12-04-2005, 06:12 PM
Oh right, I forgot the amusing part. Thanks for reminding me Stay.

287 items on that list total.

Brattt8525
12-04-2005, 06:16 PM
Well was there not an item taken off for lack of interest in the other auction? Maybe the extras are just in case no one wants that nail file?

Fission
12-04-2005, 06:22 PM
They're probably building in a cushion since some of the items will almost certainly be passed.

Ardwen
12-04-2005, 06:33 PM
in the silvers room items very likely willl be passed, I'd bet that even the most obvious piece of total shit will get tickets in the raffle rooms.

I don't see how you'd end up with crap unless you don't bother listening to the auctioneer/raffler before tossing your token at sometime. You've got a better shot at being misled by one of us than one of them.

Heh it's interesting to see some of the duped items on there. I know there's at least 2 if not more items on that list that I have already. Nothing too big, but still duplicated nonetheless.

I'm still excited either way and glad to actually be able to know what the heck is going on this time. First time I went on the FP I was pretty new to the game and didn't have a clue.

Anyone have any idea of what the 12 tomes do? I heard that when you open them they tell you where herbs are forgable in a particular town, which would be very dissapointing.

Ardwen
12-05-2005, 01:05 PM
Drakar skinning knives from the past improve ones skinning ability, There arent 12 towns for there to be 12 tomes for so they cant all be for that.

Kitsun

There isn't one, Shalla.

There are some items that are exact copies of really old Grand Auction items, some resemble items from the Platinum Auction a couple months back.

If you poked at Ardwen's brain, that'd probably be the best list you could get at this point in time.

a slender Krolvin pit slasher (midlevel enchant self mana spirit shield "A favorite in the Krolvin slave fighting pits, this slender weapon was designed for cramped hand-to-hand fighting. The leather-wrapped haon handle holds a two foot long blade on either side. Each blade is slightly serrated just past the handle to aid ripping flesh, while the front halves of the blades are smooth and come to a sharp, pointed end for slashing and thrusting. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.")Tiaysa for 2000000 silver

Hey, thanks Kitsun.

One question that comes to mind is what the hell a brutality ticket is.

RE: enchant, when the auctioneer states levels, is there a way we can tell what he actually means, some sort of range? If so, someone want to break it down? [midrange I assume is around +25]

What's the deal with the small leather pouch? I mean that seriously sounded like crap.

Whats the difference between say fire flares, and fire immolator?

"Sorrow" is that super heavy blade? With what powers?

What would be a "rare flare", like plasma? void? something-else?

A shield thats resistance to magic? Any elaborations?

Recharging items? What are they? What do they do?

Major sanct items? DO you need the 40 ranks so you incur the possibility of not killing yourself, or are you immune to it since its through an item?

Whats troll bane?

Didn't the plat auction items that were weightless, only hold like 5 items, with a possibility of getting them as high as 9 items, 9 being its capped limit?

The multiple setting teleport ring, is that Elanth wide? Or only for a certain area?

What were all the named sacks at teh end Kitsun? Just curious.

Ok, thats it. Thanks for any and alll responses.

Should be rather interesting to see how many questions get answered, and how many folks remain mum concerning potential item qualities. The more information that is revealed about items the potential competition for said item, increases.

PS I'll save you the effort Finis of sending me any vitriol like U2Us, you're blocked - I'll never see em. :bleh:

Info on Brutality is in this post.

don't know if Khaladon ever ran his Brutality game in Prime.

Basically a Brutality ticket wins you in a spot in a grab bag game with a total of 10 participants usually. The first person to go picks one of ten different colored bag worn on Khal's NPC. He gets the bag, looks inside and without saying a single word about what he's gotten or manipulating it in any way, he decides whether to keep the first bag or pass it to the next person in line. If he keeps it, thats his win for the present time and he keeps it in the bag until the game is finished. If he passes the bag, he picks another bag off the NPC and whatever is inside that second bag is his win. Play then passes to the next person.

So basically each person has a look at two items and winds up with one with the potential to screw your neighbor by passing them trash. After each player has a bag, then the can trade sight unseen, or pull their items out revealing their win and trade then.

I think its pretty stupid to waste a auction token on a blind item but Khal seems to love this game.

The multiple setting teleport ring, is that Elanth wide? Or only for a certain area?

Finis

Fire flares are fire flares. Immolation blades are different. They will flare always, when activated, and if waved will do a targetted style 435 attack.

Sorrow I doubt will be released into prime again. It's abilities are already well documented.

Rare flares include double flares, mechanical flares, poison etc.

Shields with magic resistance could mean +TD shields.

Recharging items are either items that charge with a spell or ability so many times per day, or an item (like the vermillion crystal) that can be used to recharge magical items.

Mjr sanct items generally just work.

Troll bane is a weapon that has increased ET, extra flares etc against trolls.

Multiple teleport rings aren't cross realm, but can be set to about 12 different places.

Brutality tickets seem to be a Platinum type thing where Khaladon plays a kind of game with some items. Don't think we'll be seeing it in prime.

No one bought the small leather pouch in Platinum, so it'll require one of the suckers in Prime to find out if it sucks as bad as it seems.

I think a fire immolator is one of those weapons where you can WAVE it at something and it spits out a fire maneuver. They were downtweaked to have charges and whatnot but you used to be able to kill anything with it.

Sorrow was Celtar's snentient blade. Lots of scripts, tends to kill the owner a bunch. Stray had it for a little while but I think its sitting in some shop now.

Magic resistant shield should just be a TD adder.

Recharging items can add 1 or 2 charges to an item per day without a chance of failure (unless already full, then it blows up).

Troll Bane weapons were like the Voln cyclers I think. Cycles from 2x to 7x with special scripts to locate trolls.

Just FYI, that list totally wasn't mine. I ripped it off the official boards somewhere. I don't play Platinum, I just keep my ears open.

Immolation weapons got seriously downtweaked because GMs got sick of their NPCs getting smacked around with them. They flare each swing when activated, or throw a small flare when waved.

Charging crystals got nerfed too, from what they once were, and they can cause an item to crumble... that atop only being able to recharge all of two charges per day.

The trollbanes had varying enchant ranges, with the best getting up to 7x. Great if you hunted trolls, but they didn't work against troll kings, unfortunately.

Crystals should no longer crumble items unless the charging person is a total idiot.

Ardwen

I used the 8 crystals I owned for a total of about 15000 charges and never once crumbled anything.

Thanks for the info Kitsun. And, I still think its awesome that you shared it with those that were interested in trying to do some homework regarding items.

Thanks a bunch.
