He hunts kobolds right now. A.s. is 99 with 2 signs from the dark society.Mainly uses his sword to fight, but if they have higher ds and they have a weapon, he will use 1002 to blow up their weapon which he can usallly do. And any advice would be helpful
If you need i will post stats and skills, thanks for any replies.

I'm thinking your character is probably in Ta'Vaalor if he's level 5 and in CoL.

You should go to www.tsoran.com and pull up the surrounding Vaalor maps. Can find tons of things level 1 to 10 in that area.

He is in landing. He travels between both haven and landing.

If you're in Vaalor, hunt the relnaks and leapers until your 7 or 8, then hunt the orcs, marmots, and thraks on the hill.

If you're in Solhaven, hunt water witches, cobra's, etc over by the foggy valley until your 6-7...then hunt greater orcs until you're 10 or so.

From there, take a look at Tsoran's maps (Kitsun provides a link) to see where/what to hunt next.

**Master of COL**

Swings his 0X claidhmore at 260ish, has been able to solo hunt artic manticores (train 29) since train 12, all that gets him is their cold breath, even when he can get blues.

My current plan is to continue armor till brig magic hinderance is as low as it will go, then when he gets older use a fixskills to move into hauberk. 2X THW, PT to 24 or 25, continue singling Dodge, {this is a guess} taking AS and MIU to 25 {I am hoping it will aide in identifying spells in items [corrections to this thought appreciated, as if I am wrong, I will dump those two in a heartbeat], 1X HP, COntrol to 24/25, I want to bump air lore up to 1X at some point, and tack in ?telepathy? lore for better armor/weapon benifits, and harder flares, climb to 25, then swim to 25, trading 2X, bard spells to 20 or 25, then take 400's to 430, then back to bard to 50, then back to MinE to 72 I think it is, then return to bard.

Thraks and Manticores are pretty damn easy for bards. I think I started hunting them around level 6 or 7. Manticores have skin armor and basically just punch you. Plus there is that cute little node on the boulder near the coyotes.

Make use of what you can now. Drop a manipulation lore or two and get another MOC rank for the second attack.

I went a slightly different path, and I think around level 10 or so dropped all the secondary stuff, and dropped my CMs to I think 0.5x per level and over trained Armor up to 24 ranks and got into studded leather. Compared to how my other lowbies do at low levels this made my life a lot easier, since there is really not too much use for CMs. I mean you can sweep things but your stamina blows, so you may as well sleep them. Eventually you'll train back into 1x in armor.

You are speaking of different manticores. I am speaking of the Icemule Trace Mants out the west gate, through the rolaren gate. Their full name is Artic Manticores, and they are train 29. If you think you can do that at 6 or 7, I personally would love to come watch.

To me those stats leave alot to be desired. Alot!

Seeing that combat manuevers add to AS and a handful of other things, I like pumping that up though not on my bard, later I will pump it up though.

I personally would not bother with first aide. Going through COL you will end up with sign of staunching, which I hunt with and run all the time.

AbnInfamy is speaking of Wehnimer Landing Manticores, which are insanely easy and weak, though in my post I stated Artic Manticores, and AbnInfamy seemed to of missed that.

Is this the guy who is friends with Loim? If you are, I'm sure I've seen you both being OOC morons around town. I'd suggest you don't keep up this activity.

Anyway, hunt rats til 8, then mants and thraks, then spectres, then vereri.

Lance is a harder weapon, but alot slower. Your training looks pretty solid everywhere else though.

They were around 12 in GS3. I forgot. It's been a while since I scripted a char through there. Last one I did was Peredhel.

I'm not sure if ranks in those skills correlates to loresinging or identification with 405, but 25 ranks in each will pretty much guarantee you the ability to use any magical item or scroll in existence.

If you're going the way of the society, then hang about Sol and master it, you can do it in a couple of days depending on the mood of the taskmaster and her wait durations. Lots of low level critters to be found and a lot of the player stores in Sol cater specifically for Society stuff you need for the gifts (silver wands, amulets etc) and even some skins if you cant get them by any other means of your own procurement.

edited to add...
Oh yeah, keep yer silvers out of your pocket in the bank and your containers shut when loitering in town because there be thieves a plenty down there!!

In general the taskmaster will give you a time to wait in relation to how quickly you completed the last task. The quicker you do it, the more time you have to wait. Basically this is to stop people mastering in a day or less.

Vimp
12-04-2005, 08:03 AM
Yup, perfectly possible to do in a couple of days though, I just did it this past Wed/Thu from scratch.

Belle and I have taken roughly 6 chars through in under 24 hours. We always keep mass skins on hand, and the other things the taskmaster minions would want our chars to get.

It's an easy weekend job.

As far as my bard goes, he has no need for reading scrolls or using MIU items. I am kinda looking for an direct answer as to whether or not I actually need the AS/MIU skills, as I would love to dump those points elsewhere.

As the time between tasks increases as you complete them quicker, I don't believe you. I will put it down to exaggeration however, like when you said you title a character in under a month.

Not a clue as I've never played a bard character, but it made me wonder, are there any bard runestave users out there at all??? Is it even feasible??? Of course you could just be soulpieced and get every skill possible...

It's very hard to hunt as a pure bard before level 30 (disruption) but after that it should be quite doable. I don't think you can sing up a sonic runestaff, and obviously you won't be using a sonic shield, so that give you plenty of room in multi-song penalty for all your defensive songs. Get 24 ranks of MCM for Unravel and go to town.

Believe as you will, the fact remains we have done it, and we helped push friends hrough just as fast. It's called planning, ever hear of it?

I didn't say I took any chars to title in under 30, I said its possible to title in 20 some odd days, and there were a number of folks that stated they/have as well.

Again, impossible.

It's simple math:

20 COL tasks. The quicker you do the last, means the longer you will have to wait to do the next. There is no way you could balance it so that each comes at 60 minutes from each other.

As for the level 20 in 20 days(!).

470000 experience is needed. With an average of 1.3k per hour (therefore 31200 per 24 hour period) you could do it in around 20 days, IF you hunted 24 hours a day, for 20 days straight. Which is unlikely.

Again, believe what you. You seem to think you know it all. The simple fact remains that Belle and I have done COL in under 24 hours.

And as far as training to 20 in under 30 days goes, you just agreed with me. It's possible, and can be done.

Thanks for showing you argue with yourself just for something to do.

Congratulations, you've gone beyond the capability of game mechanics. Again, posting complete BS, as you do on the officials, from a skewed perspective, so that people who don't really know will believe it.

COL cannot be done in under 24 hours. You don't seem to get the fact the more prepared you are equals more wait time from the taskmaster.

As for taking a character to 20 in 20 days, if you're fucking sad enough to stay awake for 3 weeks to hunt (as nothing else will do it), all the more power to you.

FinisWolf
12-05-2005, 06:13 PM
Stray, you are being a complete asshole, and it's not beyond game mechanics. It's been done. I didn't say everyone could do it, cause not everyone will/can be as prepared as we were. But since you think you know it all ... NOT ... whateV3r.

And again, you are still agreeing that it can be done, after saying it can't, make up your own mind.

Are you completely fucking simple minded? How many ways can I say "the quicker you do a task, IE, the more PREPARED you are for a task, the longer the next one will take"?

COL cannot be done in 24 hours as mechanics dictates. I don't care what your skewed, over exaggerated MA balanced perspective is on the matter. Unless you provide evidence, it's going to go on the :spam: file for me.
