Anyone know where I can find a table / chart which will figure these changes out?

I'm sure you know the GSIII experience system.

Nilandia's site has just about every table you'll need. Bookmark it.

It pisses me off that were it still GS3, I'd be level 103.

I hear you Tayre. My rogue would be very near 99, if not 99.

Um... it's all relative, wtf. Stop fucking whining about numbers.

FinisWolf

Well, I can't speak for Tayre, but I can for myself. I was not whinning, just noticing that I would be very near cap.

And, its not relative. CS's would be higher, skills would be more. Blah Blah ... (all the crap thats already been covered and discussed).

How the fuck would you be near the cap in GSIII at 99?

Oh wait, you wouldn't.

Where the fuck do they come up with the avg hours numbers? Those are way off.

The Average Hours per level look like a straight conversion with 1k exp per 1 hour gameplay. I think that was way before the XXX release, not that there would be a way to factor that into the equation given the diversified playstyles.

Coulda swore they instituted a level 100 cap at the end of GS3???

And stop being so hostile, thats my job (occasionally).

Well, seeing as they decided to say everyone only gets 1K exp per hour, they could factor in a guaranteed 6 hour power hunt every week, just for a generalized idea of time to level.

By the end of GS3 the cap was at 260. Or around there. I think the oldest monster was 160 though, so that was the effective hunting cap, after that you had to locksmith or heal or raise or whatever.

Numbers may be off a bit, but it was way past 100.

Well, damn the old foggies that told me differently!

I heard something like at one point it was 250, then they dropped it to something, then something else, then just before GS4 down to 100.

Goes to show you, don't believe the old foggies!

What? Are people's memories just gone? The cap in GS3 was 160. They put it in with about 12 or so characters above it including Drizzsdt, Malok, Angellisa, Skyfawn etc.

The only cap activity I remember is first there was a soft cap, then later there was a hard cap. Or maybe they were both put in simultaneously. One was around the time of the EN opening.

Stay's right. GSIII had a 160 soft cap, and GSIV has a 100 hard cap.

Drew

Define soft cap please?

StrayRogue
12-03-2005, 03:05 PM
A cap that was put in place temporarily. Anyone over the soft cap retained their level. Anyone under it could get to the soft cap and no higher. The hard cap dropped everyone over the soft cap down to it's determined barrier.

Right, at the time the soft cap was put in place someone was in their 250s I believe.

StrayRogue

Several were in their 250's.

ok, yes, I am recalling the 160 thingy now, vaguely.

Of course I never knew what the soft cap meant until it was just explained, thank you.

Thanks for the Info!

When the 160 cap was put in place in GS3 on June 1, 2001, only 2 people were above 250:
Angellisa 283
Malok 262

For reference, the remaining persons above level 200:
Jadall 245
Drizzsdt 239
Suvar 213
Sihaya 206

I always feel a strange kinship to Malok, merely because if you take out one letter, you have my RL name.

That's the end of this story. You can applaud now.

Take out one letter, no re-arranging of letters necessary.

Come on folks. It's a typical Indian name.
