Okay so currently my twc ranger is ambushing with a 4x acid flaring dagger and a 4x misericord (dagger base) I really like this combination because eye crits are pretty effective. Unfortunatly whenever an Orc Chieftan pops in the room in Orcswold, he's sportin some pretty touch chain. The daggers often times don't "cut it" :) Anywho, I was currious of a few other combinations that people have used and found successful and for what. I know I'd like to have another combination so that I can do more damage on heavier armored foes, so I'll be looking into other Ohe's as well.

Well my lil assassin ( only like 16 trains ) he uses in his offhand a fire flaring main-gauche a weapon that was actually desighed for offhand use as well as defensive ...and main is either a ice flaring dagger or in occasions where armors gets in the way acid flaring hand axe ..I still havent work out alotta bugs yet ..use to playin with a warrior ..not someone who ambushes but that combo working out well for me

Two warblades/falchions of different weights, it hurts. Lighter one in offhand, 7 seconds aimed ambush if both swung, generally the first one does the job already though if I aim for a critical location making it 5 seconds, otherwise I'm left with a pretty disabled piece of mush at my feet to toy with. Generally I don't resort to ambush and just stance dance from open with a 5 second open swing, only takes a couple of swings to take down Ice elementals, a couple more for golems.I Fallback to weighted dagger/gauche combo for eyes if I want to do that kind of thing or if fully laden of bounty.

I've got a TWC MO warrior that uses a falchion as main weapon, with a rapier in the offhand, both weapons with flares.

I get a doublestrike, or mstrike on 2 opponents with 5 second rt, three opponents bumps it up to 6 seconds, it's worked well so far for me.

2 falchions FTW.

Main hand --> Falchion/Handaxe + offhand--> Shortsword/dagger.

It really depends on what kinda armor you're going up against.

I loved TWC, and found a falchion/shortsword flaring combo incredibly effective.
two daggers is good for soft targets.

If you're ambushing, you probably should drop TWC for more PT/Dodging/Shield training, cause you'll eventually get really messed up. It will piss you off.

A shortsword has decent DFs against chain, and is fairly fast (3 second base). All the 4 second base edged weapons have the same chain DFs, and are a bit better, but if RT isn't such a concern, then try a falchion or two.

DFs vs. chain:

dagger - .080
short sword - .150
longsword/estoc/scimitar - .200
Falchion - .250

my twc ranger uses a longsword, and a warblade.

Cause.. that's what she has :)

also, 6 hits (with twc/mstrike) in 11 seconds is hot.

I always loved the shortsword/dagger combo.

a sapphire hilt black shaalk dag in the rght and a Krolvin pit slasher in the right is the best combo of course

I've seen two axes used and it's pretty deadly. One is a bard and one is a warrior. The warrior does better obviously because of the better armor and redux.

My warrioress uses two handaxes or longswords (was using two rolaren waraxes until I got two longswords from EG that got unlocked with TWC scripts)...2x'ing in TWC and MOC. Very deadly combo. :)

Obviously the SMG paired with the magnum is by far the most l33t of combinations.

Also two katars..?

Well, assuming you ambush from hiding, warriors and bards aren't a very good camparison for TWC tactics.

I know for me, personally, large weapons aren't worth it, when ambushing. If a shortsword doesn't do the trick, try an estoc...they are puncture only, and have great chain DF, so you should get a death crit when you nail the eyes, no problem.

My TWC'ing warrioress does just find without hiding/ambushing..

Depending on what profession you play, you might be able to squeeze TWC'ing, ambushing katars...probably wouldn't be able to do much else though, since katars take OHE & Brawling training.

I said the tactics are different, for exactly the reason you just stated. Most warriors/bards don't ambush from hiding, therefore they use different tactics.

For example, as a TWC rogue, I have no need for large weapons, since pretty much every hit to where I aim, is a death crit, even with 1 second base weapons. Against chain, it might take a 2 or 3 second base weapon, but anything more than that, is more than I need.

My baby rogue just went to 2 ebladed shorts for a while I think... I've got an acid flaring fal, but 5 seconds seems like forever to me..shrug.. eventually I think i'll go 2 fals.. it'll still be 5 together right?

Two fals together is a base 8 weapon. If you have really good agi/dex, you can still swing in 5.

Well, if he was ambushing, he couldn't get lower than 6 second swing.

I am currently running a TWC Bard at level 18 and a TWC Bard at level 25. Difference is one is Doubled in TWC and one is Singled.

Both Mstrike. One has better Magic.

Flaring Sword in one hand forgot which and Sonic Main Gauche in Left.

The level 18 has COL and gets as high as 242 without madness for main hand and 237 for left. Real nice when the main flares and the sonic double flares. I seem to be able to overhunt about 10 levels.

I am still working with the Level 25 to get the hang of it there. I it is a little different with Voln than COL.

My ranger died cause Latrin made me prove she could swing her Longsword and warblade for 6 hits in 11 seconds.

18 trains + 3 spiders + mstrike + twc + web + poison = :(
