I've got a +18 vaalorn baselard with blade flares. I bought it for 2m, I'd let it go for the same.

I sent this out in a U2U to the buyer but I'll post it here to cure curiousity.

Errr. Whoops my mistake. The baselard is a shortsword but it has rods (crush) damage instead of blade (slash).

Item: a dark vaalorn baselard
Show: This baselard has been forged of fine vaalorn and dyed a uniform matte black in color, refusing reflect any light. A pair of six-pointed stars is engraved at the base of the blade. The maoral handle has been wrapped in black leather and a large ruby serves as the pommel. Two thick metal rods are attached to the handle of the baselard. They are angled so that they lie parallel to one another, against the length of the weapon. Tightly coiled steel springs are clearly visible beneath the rods. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

Not sure how much you know about mechanical flares so I'll start from the top:
*The flares strike the same area the blade hits, unless the bodypart is destroyed.
*They seem to flare every 1 in 5 shots or so. But they can flare in sequential hits.
*The flares tend to be low damage but are good at stunning at the very least. They can outright kill/disable depending on the bodypart you're aiming for.
*Average damage is 20. Range is from 5 to 60.

whoa, snake flares? so khaladon made his snakes attack now?

Yeah, at the EG.

He had a selection of snakes to add to weapons.

The most basic was the snake scripts.
Next up was a snake with poison flares.
Then he had specialized poison for paralysis, bleeding and one other.
The last was to have randomization of all three types of poison.

The snake flares are awesome. I had one with 3 random poisons put on a 5x longsword. The snakes themselves do damage. Normal type but they do seem to do a lot of crits and stuff. The three extras are bleeding, poison and immobility. One of these shows up on about 1 in 3 of the flares. If people want to see them I'll try and post some shots after my next hunt.
