I actually thought of selling mine -- I have 8,900, but people simply don't want to pay anything that would make it worth my time. You are talking in + 100 million silver range, depending on the item and how much a person could resell it for. Don't expect anyone to give them to you cheaply; premium points carry a long-term and very tangible cost.

The last padder I remember was when GS ran that Juggernaut outside the west gate in Icemule, and I'm not sure how long ago that was. I wouldn't say it's the ONLY way, but it is one of the most reliable/stastically plausable ways if you're attached to your current armor.

(all of my character's combat gear dates 1998 or earlier, so obviously, I fall in the above category).

I have not done pricing research yet, but I am giving it some thought.
What is the price difference between my plain 8x armor and 8x HCP (or VHCP, whatever the system allows) ?
That might give a good indicator of the value of whatever it costs - 6000 points?
I might have mine taken to 9x before adding the padding, I know I do not have points to go to 10x padded.
:D
Total premium points available: 4400
Any clue how much it would take to add flares on an 8x weapon?

Here are some figures from Krakii, multiply the result by 100:
Pre-Scripted item 3
Alter scroll 6
Autoscripter 6
Titles* 12
EZscript 18
Lighten/Deepen 6
Typeahead 9
Enhancive: level 1 or 2 18
Enhancive: level 3 or 4 24
Flare [+00 to +20] 5+ (X/2) [5 to 15]
Flare [+21 to +50] 15+ (X-20) [16 to 45]
Enchant [+X to +X+5] X+5, minimum 5
Enchant flare 10+ X+5
Enchant script 10+ X+5
Enchant weighted (Y) 2*Y + X+5
Enchant claidhmore 40+ 2*(X+5)
Padding (Y) [+X] 2*Y + X
.
Where "X" is the current Enchant, "X+5" is the ending Enchant, and "Y" is the player-extrapolated rating chart:
Lightly 1-2
Fairly 3-4
Somewhat 5-6
Decent 7-8
Heavy 9-11
Very Heavy 12-14
Exceptional 15-19
Masterful 20-24
Incredible 25+
I do not think anything stronger than Heavy will be allowed.

Reply
Item
Pre-Scripted item - 3
Alter scroll - 6
Autoscripter - 6
Titles - 12
***This is a planned feature and not available at this time.
EZscript - 18
Lighten/Deepen - 6
Typeahead - 9
Enhansive ? level 1 or 2 - 18
Enhasnsive ? level 3 or 4 - 24
Flare - Variable
For items up to +20, a point cost equal to the 5 + (Enchant/2). Round all answers up.
For items over +20, a cost of 15 + (Enchant ? 20). Adding flares to a 6x weapon would cost 25 points. For a 10x weapon the cost would be 45 points.
Enchant - Variable
For this enchant service, the item?s enchant is increased by 5. The cost should be equal to the new Plus of the item. If the item has flares or special scripting, add 10 to the cost. If the item has padding/weighting, add (2 x level of padding/weighting) to the cost.
Retaining blessability is 5 additional points.
Exception: For claidhmores, the cost is (40 + 2x) the new Plus. Only new style claidhmores can be modified with Premium Points.
Examples: Taking a normal weapon from 4x to 5x would cost 25 points. Taking a normal steel claidhmore from 0x to 1x would cost 50 points. Taking a flaring 9x weapon to 10x would cost 60 points.
Padding - Variable
This one needs two modifiers: one for enchant, one for the amount of padding being added.
The cost is (2x Special) + Plus.
Example: So for 4x leathers with heavy critical padding, the cost is 20 + 20 = 40 points.
So, if you want to spend it, you can spend 70 points for 10x padded armor? (5.75 years of points).
The limit on padding is the assessment which is rated heavy.

Oh there will be plenty of points for sale. There are so many long term premium accounts out there. Since this can only make HCP armour, which won't sell for more than the points will sell for, I think a lot of people will opting to sell their points.

i'd be so down to get my 6x swcp fulls further padded. Either that or try to find a new set.

A 10x runestaff would be l33t, as well.

Have a new set made, it costs the same to get heavy padding done on blank armour then on already padded armour. Don't worry though, the price of heavily padded and less armour is going to fall through the floor.

Something to consider, guys. It is less costly point wise to get a High enchant set of armor padded than it is to get a currently padded set of armor enchanted.
Get your hands on some 7x armor and have padding on it. That is the best bang for your buck. The only reason to have enchants added to your armor is if you are already at or above the HEAVY armor padding level and wish to continue to upgrade your armor.

Sweet.
If thats the case, I would be willing to pick up a handful of points in order to get my 7x mbp crit padded to heavy. I've got some but not enough at this rate. And it will take me 2 years I believe to get the remainder.

Enhancers are attuned to the person who gets them, as long as they haven't changed it recently due to the new system. I don't forsee that happening however.
As to scrolls, no you don't hand it to someone else. They give you the item, you have it done for them, they get their item. Normally the person 'buying' said alteration, pays half up front and half after the exchange. Some people require it all upfront however.

No. When you go into the light house you have to have the item you wanted altered in one hand and grab a scroll with the other. That ties the alter scroll to the item, and it can't be used on some thing else.
Atleast that's what I got from the sign on the table.

I sold 5100 for 20 million which I regret . I still have 4500 left if anyone is interested.
Xyelin, do you regret it because you think 5100 are worth more than 20m? Or, because the 5100 were on the same account as the 4500 that you have left - i.e. you regret not having 9600 available?
I'm trying to figure out the value of the pts too. Based on the going rate for alter scrolls (SP said 2.5-3m) we could say 2.5 per every 600 pts. Based on that 5100 would go for 21.25 million.
I'm not sure if that's the right way to look at it though. You'd think that the value of pts should actually increase per unit (600 in this case) as the total amount gets higher. The value of the types of services that you can get spikes as you reach the higher pt totals. If you take the 5100 example, that equals 8.5 alterations. You could also have (someone correct me here, I'm still trying to figure out the pts to service chart) heavy crit/damage padding added to 5x, maybe 6x armor. Would you guys trade 8.5 alterations for a set of 5x or 6x heavily padded armor?

Check the website Leloo. They converted yearly benefits into Premium Points. 100 points for each month, with the extras costing points now instead of just having a year of premium time. There's a list on the officials etc. Or you could just type Premium 10, 12 and 13 I think it is.

Someone should make a 10x runestaff. There's what? 2 in the lands? Probably would be worth the investment.
Getting my 6x swcp fulls done up to 7x hcp would be beautiful, though. And my 6x runestaff up to 7 would be quite nice as well. Here's hoping I win the lottery.
There's so many good OHE's and heavier armors out there, though. Seems like buying a nice one (or set) would be cheaper than spending the points.

So a 7x armor taken from 0 to 11 (in crit padding) would be: 3500+2200= 5700 points?
Padding a 10x armor would be 5000+2200=7200 points?
To get something from 7x to 10x would be 4000+4500+5000= 13500 points?
from 0x to 10x would be... 5+10+15+20+25+30+40+45+50=24000 points?
7x padded, then enchanted to 10x would be... 13500+(3500+2200)= 19200 points?
but brought to 10x then padded would be... 13500+ (5000+2200)=20700 points?
That's expensive, heh.
20m per 8000 points or so...
Getting a set of 7x armor fully padded would cost ~15m
Whereas a set of 7x hcp fulls would cost me like 50m, and take 3 years to find?
Seems like a good deal to me. Maybe I should start selling my stuff... like my raffle robes from Ebon's.
Unless I'm way off, then I blame it entirely on having finals coming up, and having my nose in teh books.

I just want to know if it costs 5700 points to get something fully padded, basically. I would be in the market for that. Most would.
6x HCP fulls seem to be selling for 20-25m. I have a set that are 6x swcp that could be brought to hcp, if necessary. However, buying 7x (for about 6m) and getting it altered and padded would be cheaper by alot for poor ol' me.
I'm wondering if I should start selling my stuff from EG so I can go about affording it. I think my auctioned, feature-concealing robes might sell for a bunch these days, as well as a few other things I obtained.

Firnaya shows you some dusky silver robes, which she is holding in her right hand. The elegant robes are crafted of heavy brocaded silk in a shimmering, dusky silver hue. Wide bands of a darker twilight grey trim the hem and the edges of the deeply cowled hood. The sleeves bear the same twilight grey trim, encircled with a series of small scarlet pentacles. Attaching the robe at the collar, a silver button bears an etching of a crenellated tower worked in scarlet lacquer. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.
I'm not sure what they'd sell for, since they were a raffled item and all.
I've heard lotsa different probables, though. From 5m and up. Considering how poor I am (only like 5m in the bank, seems like I should start selling stuff, (plus the fact that I have 0 locker space!)

yes, enchant weighted/padded item table! Ugh, that's what I need.
Though I think I'll pad my 8x brig up to HCP. That might be fun.
But I want to know how much to ET my 4x VHCP chain up to something higher.
