I got a old style bastard sword recently, the kind that switches between a greatsword and a broadsword. If you use the GRIP verb on it, it changes it to a new style bastard sword and ruins it. Here's a log, the names have been changed to protect the not-so-innocent.
You focus your mind on Drunky and think: "I bought a new bastard sword, it's an oldstyle one, the likes of which you don't see anymore. Light as air too."
[Private] Drunky: " That bastard sword, what does it look like? I rather prefer them."
You focus your mind on Drunky and think: "It's a simple veniom-hilted bastardsword. I have it in the Ice Garden if you'd like to see it."
Drunky just came through a wrought-iron gate.

You say, "I see you have made it."

Drunky says, "Barely."
>
Drunky looks glassy-eyed and rather drunk.
You see Drunky the Swordswoman.
She appears to be a Vaalor Elf.
You tap a veniom-hilted bastardsword, which is in your right hand.
Drunky drunkenly asks, "May I hold?"
You offer your veniom-hilted bastardsword to Drunky, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.
Drunky has accepted your offer and is now holding a veniom-hilted bastardsword.

Drunky blinks oddly a few times.

(OOC) You quietly whisper to Drunky, "DO NOT GRIP IT."
