My rogue is currently 77 and being fully trained in locks/traps I can pick 98% of all the OTF boxes I get from hunting my older character. I plan on moving from the tower to OTF at 79 or 80 if I stick to plan.

My training ranks are listed below. I'm thinking about stopping lock/trap training at 78 and throwing those points into CM and dodge with some arcane symbols (magical ranks for spirit burst in OTF).

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

At 75 I hit my current lock and trap high as listed on my profile:
Most difficult lock picked: -1115
Most difficult trap disarmed: -450

And what locks I cant pick, I can wedge. Traps over 450 are infrequent and can be 125'd or given to the town locksmith.

Yea, I'm seriously considering putting additional training efforts of lock/trap into dodge first, then mix up more CM, physical training, and arcane symbols. The cost for locks and traps is 4/4 and 4/4 respectively. But because of the mnt/phy conversion I'm spending 12 mnt points per rank, 6 ranks is 72 mnt points while the conversion deficit remains... then it turns back to 24/24 points available for reallocation. Damn, that almost makes me giddy. :(

Cold Blood makes it so your next hit will be gauranteed to be a critical hit.

Preparation removes the cooldown (wait time before you can use a skill again) for all of your rogue skills.

Thx Anticor. I think that I'll reduce lock and trap to 1x, beef up CM and dodge like you've done. yea, 1x lock and trap at the most.

Actually I'll probably end up hovering around 2x for the picking skills.

yea, by the time I cap out I'm thinking I'll be 2.7x or 2.75 overall. I like the stigma of being a master picker as well as being a more than competent hunter.

Get shield up to 1x. Then do CM.

Oh and Artha, Prep/CB is a build for rogue noobs.

What do you need the 3x hiding for? That could free up a lot of points if you dropped it to 2x.

3x hiding is paramount for my rogue, hunting wise (first tenet for defense and striking), not to mention its strongly built into his RP.

If I were to 2x hide, I'd just reroll as a warrior.

Well, asside from RP reasons, 3x hiding is kinda pointless unless you snipe, IMO. Most creatures can't see you with 2x, and you're going to be jumping out of hiding each attack, so it's not so important.

3x is just a hefty cost, especially if you pick.

Oh, and a warrior has to pay 9/6 to double hiding, and 9/12 to double ambush, and you would say goodbye to your picking skills.

2x stalk hide with smastery is awesome. I believe you could still maintain your hidden rogue very very easily, and free up a TON of tp's.

Just a thought.

O ... and your character wouldn't notice/see a difference in his life/behavior, nor would people you interact with. You would continue being a shadow rogue.
