The the risk of being stereotypical, I'm so uber excited for this movie. I had just about every song off the broadway CD memorized in 8th grade, and I find that I still know most of the songs.

Anyone else planning to see this? It was a great musical, and will probably make a very good movie.

All I can think about when I see those previews is the Team America song...

Everyone has AIDS!
AIDS AIDS AIDS!
AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS!
Everyone has AIDS!

I was more interested in a heterosexual's opinion on it, seeing as how I already know my own.

But thanks anyway!

I have several friends who saw it live and loved it, I missed it when it was in town, though.
I will definitely see the movie, I'm sure it's going to be pheonominal.

My brother is insisting for me to see it if that is any indicator.

It was excellent on Broadway; I'm most likely going to go see it in the theater. The one I'm really waiting for though is Brokeback Mountain.

There are borders enforced with armed police surrounding our country, with the sole purpose of keeping the cast and any copy of the show in whatever form, from reaching our sensitive and well cultured eyes.

Only because Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger GET DOWN AND DIRTY.

You're a dirty old man. It's excellent.

I saw this play live 3 times as an undergrad. At the theatre in Chicago they'd reserve the first two rows of every showing in the evening for 20 bucks for college students for a short time. My roommate was a Rent FREAK and dragged me to 3 shows before I put my foot down. She knew the words to every song and played the soundtrack practically every day during the semester. It was an excellent play.

If I see it, it will be mainly for Rosario Dawson.

A long work meeting must be why Snapp hasn't responded yet.

Absolutely not.
Heath LedgerOne please.

I can't believe they're making an Underworld 2. What's next, Catwoman II: CPR Instructors?

I don't know anything about musicals. Not every stereotype is true. :P

edit: Also agreed that Raven is a dirty old man. :runs:

I saw it on Broadway and it honestly (in my opinion) isn't worth the ridiculous amount of hype it gets. I most likely will not be seeing the movie since I have no interest in it after seeing the play.

I am not old. PB is old. Compared to him, I am a spring chicken.

Then again, so is a coelacanth.

I'm sure I'll watch it. I haven't seen the play, or to my knowledge, ever heard any song from it. But the same was true of Chicago and I enjoyed that.

My favorite thing about 'Rent' was how well they made fun of it in 'Team America' and that was just about my favorite thing about 'Team America'.

The very first showing on the very first day- I'm there. I've seen it live 5 times, and I have everything memorized from it.

I'm so excited!

I don't have the songs memorized but I will be singing along nonetheless. I will be the person who is always slightly off from the actual words. You know, that annoying person that sings along to a song but never quite matches the words. What I lack in musical skill I will make up for in enthusiasm and volume. I will have to sit in the back row however to avoid getting bashed over the head by the people behind me. Everyone's a critic.
