I assume it's AOL trying to pull a revenue from their free IM service. I just don't like the fact that they added people to my buddy list.

I use Trillian as well. But it only popped up for 2 of my 3 screen names.

I got the message and I use Adium and Gaim. No new buddy categories, though.

Using Trillian myself, and the AIM Bot did show itself, not sure how AOL set this up since its hitting people randomly. All the same they are simple little Bots that will pull basic web searches … random Gimmick but all the same I did keep two of them Tagged for future use: Here is a snippet of me using the MovieFone

I got that this morning as well, also deleted. I also use AOL mail and hate the "helpful" things they try to add to my service. I also blocked "AOLTRAVEL" mail and reported it to their system as unsolicited spam.

I got it today after I restarted, and I use DeadAIM too. I think the notification after you delete them is just to let you know you deleted them. Or something. :shrug: Stupid, if you ask me.
