this psinet key is bullshit. i logged in a character for the first time since the 2nd run of the WD today, and it got rejected from the server because i didnt have a key set, so i do psinet key, and it says i have to wait like 11 days before the server resets the key for me

Jamus just updated some stuff,so be sure to download the updates again.

He edited the dead body thing,the lumis thing the new stackable spells and the double spacing on the net.

Crontab or a Cron Job... same as Windows Services but for Linux.

You can set it to check if the program is up and if the server reboots it will restart it automatically.

Crontab is used to setup a Cron Job. Cron is one of the most common ways in Linux/Unix to run a program and keep it running after a reboot or crash.

So....I'm glad Jamus is holding his own, but...what prompted that. Anyone care to fill me in? I love Psinet, I hope Jamus figures out whatever keeps crashing it and brings it back. If its some jerk hacking it, which the above makes it seem like, I hope he finds a way to lay down the smack on them.

I had a semi-successful Tribe/Clan back during Tribes 1 and 2. Couple guys came in started being all friendly and helping and tried to take the tribe away from me. They left the rest stayed.

Anytime you make or create or build something good others want a piece of it. More so if it is something like Psinet online and such.

Psinet is a very unsecure system so I'm not surprised someone is exploiting it's security vulnerability.

I do hope when it comes back, it uses some very basic form of encryption. Right now the server is entirely unencrypted which means anyone can use a program like Etherdetect to get the connection protocol, login as anyone they feel like including staff, since Psinet isn't password protected, and do whatever the heck they want on the server.

The funnier hack would be to login as admin and hijack someone's GS connection and delete their character.

Agreed, especially since the original psinet folders on my characters have been copied over to my other computer so I can use the same alias features and have the key stored and used on that system.
