Ok, so... I poured the potion on the item... I waited 5 days! I cast enchant at it once... Now what? Do I pour it again? heh or Cast again?
It is a 4x item, I have cast enchant at it once, I understand I need to do that 4 more times to get it to 5x, but do I need to pour for each cast? Any chance someone could throw out the basics for enchanting so that people like me are not so lost?
thanks

Yes. You need to pour after each cast up until the 5th time. IM me at Kryjeck12 and I'll walk you through everything you need. I'll be around a little later tonight.

It depends, sometimes failure happens. Post your skills, what potion, what item, what you were wearing, basically any and all things you can think of related to this enchant and we will see if we can't figure something out.

You are wearing a burning flame tattoo, a silver-linked dragon's head bracelet, an oval silvery mithril locket, a matte black coiled dragon pendant, an ink black spidersilk bag, a gold ring, some black silk britches, a fitted black silk vest, a jet black leather weapons sling, some deep black onyx-imbedded leather, some black leather hunting boots, a silver scarab-clasped pouch, a wild black rose, a pair of sharp red horns, a mithril Twilight Hall pin, a coiled black dragon tattoo, a tightly woven silver mesh gem pouch, a dark-chained silver crystal, a jet black silver-threaded satchel clasped with a tiny onyx scarab and a jet black spidersilk cloak edged with silver silk trim.
i was wearing all of it at the time. it was just a broadsword i got from landing for 102 silver using a You tap a duqnuru potion. I think its cause my lack of training in MIU. but im not a wizard expert or anything

Enchanting relies heavily on your magic skills, specifically you MIU ability. You aren't even singled, plus most likely encumbered slightly.

Are you singled in wizard spells? 9xx ranks seem to figure heavily in the formula. Also, I agree that using a workshop does seem to help.

I would like to say I'm an expert at enchanting but at lvl 57 I still don't know 925  From what I have read it seems that 9xx ranks, MIU, and encumberance play a huge part in enchanting. Mana share not so much since wizards can only 1x and we don't use mana pools anymore.

Being in a workshop is not required, but provides a small bonus, as well.

I enchanted an item from 5 to 6X...a pair of box found leathers. I didn't use a workshop, in fact I did them right outside the broken tower door in Solhaven.
Encumberence is a large issue. I never failed an enchant, I was not doubled in MIU or scroll reading, I carried all my wizard spells on and never had a problem.

You gesture at a blue-grey mithril mace.
As you concentrate on casting your magicks at it, faint sparkles surround and embed the mithril mace, and join themselves to its very structure. Then the sparkles pulse brighter, in unison. A bright aura suddenly surrounds the mithril mace and seems to consume it! After a moment the glow fades and the mithril mace returns to normal. The enchantment was successful.
Roundtime: 60 sec.
So i took off my satchel and my cloak and made sure all my coins were depositied and i used a workshop. Looks to be better. 1-2 days to find out if this mithril mace can be enchanted to 2x...wish me luck! YEY!
