Well, the genius terrorists have done all of us westerners a huge favor by turning the powerful and already semi-pro western Jordanian goverment to lay the smack down... and they have some of the best CIA type spies/assasins/intelligence in the world.

Hopefully it's just isolated to Jordan. I'm headed to Algeria tomorrow and will be in the Sheraton there for a week or so.

Thats some twisted logic to say that people who bombed innocent people in international hotels did us a favor.

Twisted logic? Not at all.

The terrorist attack in Jordan killed innocent civilians, mostly Jordanians. This is a terrible attack and should be condemned and those responsible tracked down. Don't assume that because we indirectly benefit from it that I am justifying it or in any way supporting it.

What I am suggesting, on the other hand, is that the Jordanians are a powerful US ally, and this attack on them will only dedicate them more to aiding our causes. They interrogate our suspects (AKA torture them and do the things to get information that we American's don't/won't do), they share great deals of information, and they arrest terrorists in their county. Their alliance is a very important and strategic one that will only be strengthened by this attack.

The terrorists have found themselves unable to attack their prime targets directly (US/Israel) so they have lowered their targets to western interests in the Middle East. By attacking public hotels in the middle of Amman, they have lessened their appeal in the eyes of the Muslim world. This helps to clear up our major problem in the world; They hate us.

This attack certainly won't stop them from hating us, or even make them hate us any less. What it WILL do (and pay attention, this is very significant) is begin to make them hate the terrorists, rather than supporting and advocating their cause.

My point can ALREADY be seen around the world. Just look at the Muslim news wires.

Check out the Al-Jazeera reports if you don't believe me.

Their version of the story can be found at http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/A0A5DC6A-E446-4F3F-B35E-2947E89E1F54.htm.

Funny situation. It doesn't seem logical for Al Qaida to attack Jordan. Perhaps it was the Mossad again travelling on Canadian passports. It wouldn't have been the first time the Mossad had been in Jordan trying to kill people using Canadian passports.

If it was Al Qaida this was a very stupid move to attack Jordan.

Agreed. That's the point I was making.

Then again, all terrorist attacks are inherantly stupid, but this one more than usual because it hurts the cause they are trying to further.
