I'm not critisizing you but, no belief in the Colts huh? I thought Peyton was a choker, but he'll have homefield advantage, won't have to play in Foxborough ;)

I actually like the Colts.. like Dungy. I think the talk about Manning being a choker is nonsense... but I don't think their defense is as good as people make it out to be. I think Panthers have a better defense and if Smith and Davis stay healthy, they have a great shot.

Colts v. Giants.
Peyton and Eli both play terribly. Final score 6 - 2 Colts.

No faith in the Giants... so sad.
Seriously.. the jags stun or is that just a homer pick? Fred Taylor and Byron leftwich are walking injuries, Jimmy Smith is old enough to be PB's dad, Stroud and Co. aren't stopping anyone from running on them, Donovan Darius is done and your secondary is young and not that good, and as a team they play down and give the easier teams a shot to win. I don't see the jags making the super bowl.

< Seriously.. the jags stun or is that just a homer pick? >
The Jags will go 12-4. Fred and Byron will be healthy, and while Darius is done for the year, the defense is still strong ( 3rd in AFC ). The Jags will not win the division, and will have the wildcard game at home, I'd imagine against Pitsburgh. They will win.
How do you figure they'll both be healthy. If anything I'd argue that history says otherwise. Byron has never played a full season and Fred has played a full season 2 times out of his 8 seasons (including this one where it's impossible for him to play a full season). Not to mention freds already banged up. And your really projecting a 7-1 finish for a team that barely finished off the texans? They may have a soft schedule which might get them into the playoffs, but I most certainly don't think they are a super bowl caliber team. Sides you really think they are gonna beat the steelers? They beat Tommy Maddox based on an OT pick if i recall correctly.

< If anything I'd argue that history says otherwise. >
History says that since Jimmy Stuart went to the Lions, the Jags have never had a reliable, cram it down your hole back. Greg Jones is that man. He's a big man willing to hit you twice, and until Fred is healthy, he'll do the job.
< And your really projecting a 7-1 finish for a team that barely finished off the texans? >
Yes. It's a bit farfetched, I'd agree. But who thought the Bungles would be this good?
< Sides you really think they are gonna beat the steelers? >
Call me crazy. The Jags are going to run the table the second half, like the Colts are doing right now. I'm also willing to say the Jags give the Colts another hard fight later on this season. I'm also brave ( stupid ) enough to believe that the Jags will beat the Colts, possibly defeating the undefeated.

No, I don't think the Colts defense is as good as they make it out to be, besides the Rams, they really haven't played anyone with a great offense, and they were losing 17-0 to St. Louis until they knocked out Bulger. But whose really going to stop Peyton when he gets in stride, I'd LOVE to see Peyton vs Eli Super Bowl, I'd love even more to see Eli take it, although I don't think many, if any, qb's win a Super Bowl in their 2nd year. I may be mistaken though, I am younger.

Me. I wouldn't have selected their QB/RB/DT and just missed out on Johnson as a receiver if I didn't think they were going to be a solid unit this year.

I would have, two years from now. Those players, IMO, needed a year or two more to gel.
My opinion of the Jags is that this was their year to gel, others think they need more time.

Cowboys just slipped by the Giants, had the Giants called the coin toss in OT, they probably would of won. Plus, that was in Dallas, can't wait until the Giants play them at home, I have tickets for that game, I'll let you know how it went. ;)

Rudi needs time to gel? he did well under kitna and did well year 1 under carson.

Need some opinions, this week, since Moss has sucked, Moulds vs KC or Moss vs Denver? Also, Droughns vs Pit or Staley(sharing with Bettis) vs Cleveland?

Moulds - Moss is still hurt, even though he is playing. Heck, he might not play this week. Moulds is finally gelling with his QB and KC isn't known for their D.
Staley - Bettis is still listed as questionable.. I would be surprised if he played. Stayley should get most of the carries, if not all.

Thanks, same thing I was thinking, Moss has been shit, and Steelers have a solid D. Thanks for the second opinion.

Just a bump to remind Stun that he should never bet on Fragile Fred and Brittle Byron being healthy.

8-3, Tijay. Top seed for a wild-card. Still goes 12-4, with their loss going to the Colts.

He obviously has a lot of faith in Garrard or think Leftwich's ankle is gonna be better than indicated.

Colts - Yes Manning chokes at times, but he's got a hell of an arm. I look forward to seeing them beat the Steelers tonight.
vs
Giants maybe
And I think that, this year, the Colts will win the Superbowl. They're just on a good roll, as long as they don't get cocky or deal badly with the pressure - I think that'll help them get there.
However - in the event that the Steelers do make it, please please let's not put Maddox in. He manages to find a way to mess things up. I've pondered if perhaps he has bad vision or is color blind. That could explain some of the absolutely ridiculus moves he tends to make.

Yea that's ridiculous, I've been saying Bears/Colts in the Super Bowl, but I haven't been drunk and telling people 3 safeties. 20-10 Colts.

Peyton Manning can score against any defense, period, and I doubt very much the Bears offense can match him vs. Indy's not-too-bad defense.

Giants @ any championship game is laughable. I pick the Colts to beat Carolina in the superbowl, 28-17. With a TB win in Carolina today, all they have to do is get past Atlanta once more and they're division champs, though I dont think TB can overcome Carolina in playoffs.

The Bucs didn't look horrible, their defense shut down Portis. They should have won that game but they had a few stupid turnovers early on in the first quarter.
I'm watching the Cincinati/Pittsburg game right now. Poor Steelers have like no fans at all at the game. Sucks to be them.

Hooooly shit they suck! I'm a die hard Giants fan and I thought these words wouldn't come out of my mouth this year, but they fucking sucked. Reason they got beat: Panthers knew all they had to do was stop the run and Eli, being a 2nd yr QB would fold under pressure. Good strategy, but atleast you can be sure Eli learned something out of this game... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Peyton got to a playoff game until his 3rd or 4th year? 6-10 to 11-5, I have no complaints, they had a great year. And your skins are lookin sharp, I'm expecting them to beat Seattle, possibly make it to the big game, Good luck. Be nice to see it back in the NFC East.
Edited because of early morning pre-coffee post.

As stupid as it may sound, I'm glad they got their asses handed to them, they weren't going to beat Chicago and they'll learn so much more from getting beat down. We all know they'll make it to the playoffs next year, Manning will be more mature and hopefully Burress will continue his fucking routes, he's so god damn lazy sometimes. That last interception was all Burress stopping his route, if he thinks the ball isn't coming his way, he gets lazy. I can't even count how many times Manning threw bad balls at him over the season and instead of going after them he was too worried about bitching about it.
