I did some loresinging to my flute from the place with random instruments, and thought this was neat.
Your song evokes various impressions from the fir. The smell of singed hair drifts past, and the image of a ferny glade forms briefly before your eyes. In the glade, you observe a dark-complected dwarven man making a gesture of blessing over his fir flute. The fragile vision dissolves almost as quickly as it came."
Your magical song delves into the nature of the flute, evoking the image of a silver-haired human man. The man is surrounded by a swirling barrier of air and wears a carved deathstone rose. Ants crawl busily over a rotting log as the human man purchases the fir flute from the same dwarven man that you observed before. The sound of smashing rock surrounds you as the image fades away."
"Harmonies echo from the heart of your flute, and those harmonies swell around you, guiding you into a vision. You see a storm-lashed sailing vessel, and the human man sits upon the proud ship's deck playing the fir flute. The human man is alone, playing for no one but himself, and his expression reflects the same yearning that you perceive in his practiced music. The vision ends as you finish your verse."
"The resonances of the fir flute flow over you as sensory impressions. You hear someone calling upon the lesser spirits for aid and smell olive oil before the magic of your loresong draws you into a vision. You see a glowing lava pool, and, on the blackened bank, the human man sits very near a sandy-haired elven woman. The human man holds the fir flute, and his eyes are locked to the elven woman's as he draws unskilled music from the flute. Suddenly, a third person arrives. You can ascertain nothing of this person's nature except that this third person is a source of fear for the human man. The human man flees, abandoning the fir flute to the elven woman. The image dissolves away."
You sing to the flute, but receive only the normal harmonies of fir in return. You sense that sharing the race of the flute's previous owner permitted you to coax more lore from it than someone of another race could have done. The harmonies fade as you finish your verse."

"Your song waxes and wanes, but the vibrations yield only a quick, meaningless scattering of sensory impressions to you, all of which come too quickly and fade too swiftly to be identified.
Neat huh?

Another neat one:
As you sing to the shawm, your melody evokes various impressions from the pine. The smell of wheatgrass drifts past, and the image of a rich wetlands forms briefly before your eyes. Not far from a gracefully posing blue heron, you observe a russet-haired dwarven man holding his pine shawm to the light. The fragile vision dissolves almost as quickly as it came.
Your magical song delves into the nature of the shawm, evoking the image of an elegantly coiffed elven woman. The woman is bent with age and has veins that stand out slightly from the skin. Water drips slowly from stalactites as the elven woman coerces the pine shawm from the same dwarven man that you observed before. The sound of plates shattering surrounds you as the image fades away.
Harmonies echo from the heart of your shawm, and those harmonies swell around you, guiding you into a vision. You see a beach covered with seashells, and the elven woman squats on the beach playing the pine shawm. A few woodsmen listen to the elven woman's crescendoing music with expressions of cruelty on their faces. The vision ends as you finish your verse.
The resonances of the pine shawm flow over you as sensory impressions. You hear convulsive sneezing and smell sealing wax before the magic of your loresong draws you into a vision. You see a rocky field, and, at the edge of the field, the dwarven man of the first verse kneels conversing with the elven woman. Depression shines in the elven woman's eyes as the dwarven man demands the pine shawm from her. The image dissolves away.
You sing to the shawm, but receive only the normal harmonies of pine in return. You sense that sharing the gender of the shawm's previous owner permitted you to coax more lore from it than someone of the opposite sex could have done. The harmonies fade as you finish your verse.
Your song waxes and wanes, but the vibrations yield only a quick, meaningless scattering of sensory impressions to you, all of which come too quickly and fade too swiftly to be identified.

As you sing to the harp, your melody evokes various impressions from the oak. The smell of amaryllis drifts past, and the image of a domed room forms briefly before your eyes. Near a desk, you observe a haggard erithian woman examining her newly crafted oak harp for any imperfections. The fragile vision dissolves almost as quickly as it came.
Your magical song delves into the nature of the harp, evoking the image of a pale halfling woman. The woman is extremely old and wears a suit of plate mail. Roses shed sweet fragrance through the air as the halfling woman snatches the oak harp from the same erithian woman that you observed before. The sound of a tolling bell surrounds you as the image fades away.
Harmonies echo from the heart of your harp, and those harmonies swell around you, guiding you into a vision. You see a rich wetlands, and the halfling woman kneels not far from a gracefully posing blue heron playing the oak harp. A few guards listen to the halfling woman's clear music with expressions of doubt on their faces. The vision ends as you finish your verse.
The resonances of the oak harp flow over you as sensory impressions. You hear doves cooing and smell old books before the magic of your loresong draws you into a vision. A tornado crosses in the distant background as an assembly of elves listens to various people playing music in succession. Faces swirl past, but you perceive only two clearly: the familiar face of the halfling woman and a lean human woman. In the end, the cacophonous music of the human woman is selected by the elves, and cowardice fills the halfling woman's eyes as she presents the human woman with the oak harp. The image dissolves away.
You sing to the harp, but receive only the normal harmonies of oak in return. You sense that sharing the gender of the harp's previous owner permitted you to coax more lore from it than someone of the opposite sex could have done. The harmonies fade as you finish your verse.
Your song waxes and wanes, but the vibrations yield only a quick, meaningless scattering of sensory impressions to you, all of which come too quickly and fade too swiftly to be identified.

A friend gave me a cedar Dhe'nar theorbo..
Melladie whispers, "As you sing to the theorbo, your melody evokes various impressions from the cedar. The smell of spearmint drifts past, and the image of a harvest festival forms briefly before your eyes. At the edge of the festival grounds, you observe a crippled dark elven woman admiring her newly crafted cedar theorbo. The fragile vision dissolves almost as quickly as it came."
Melladie whispers, "Your magical song delves into the nature of the theorbo, evoking the image of a black-eyed giantman man. The man is surrounded by a pure white aura and is garbed in marbrinus. An unattended plowhorse munches lazily at some loose strands of hay as the giantman man snatches the cedar theorbo from the same dark elven woman that you observed before. The sound of panicking pegasuses surrounds you as the image fades away."
>
Melladie whispers, "Harmonies echo from the heart of your theorbo, and those harmonies swell around you, guiding you into a vision. You see a small park, and the giantman man poses upon a stone bench playing the cedar theorbo. A few paladins listen to the giantman man's fast music with expressions of mockery on their faces. The vision ends as you finish your verse."
Melladie whispers, "The resonances of the cedar theorbo flow over you as sensory impressions. You hear a voice tearfully praising Lorminstra's power and smell pine sap before the magic of your loresong draws you into a vision. The giantman man is nowhere to be seen, but you do see a strong dwarven woman rummaging through a stack of possessions. Suddenly, the woman straightens with a Dhe'nar cedar theorbo in one hand. Glancing around quickly, the woman hurries off, plainly wishing to stash her ill-gotten gain before the owner returns. The image dissolves away."
Melladie whispers, "You sing to the theorbo, but receive only the normal harmonies of cedar in return. You sense that sharing the gender of the theorbo's creator permitted you to coax more lore from it than someone of the opposite sex could have done. The harmonies fade as you finish your verse."

Those are really spiffy, I wonder what same gender and same race would do for the loresongs?

Tricky, that.
I also got a really nice gleaming sephwir dulcimer, which had some enhancive properties..Very neat. I heard that the straps are now usable for some of the instruments too.
