This is available to my bard. I'm coming here, because my other chars are all pures (sorc, wizard, cleric). My bard is my only weapons user, and I would like to know if its worth the 6 cm points to get rank 1 (75% percent) or 15 for the full 100%. I've been using a sonic lance, but thinking of using a spear that I have (mithril superior forged, gonna have it enchanted up...I like the ability to switch from 1 to 2 handed when against bolters). So, is picking the damage type worth it? I could boost my feint, charge and spin attack with those points...Also, I 1x CM

If you aim your shots, I'd say get it in a heartbeat. Spear puncture to the eye is nasty.

If you hunt puncture proof creatures regularly, I'd consider getting it.

If you aim your shots from the open it is wonderful. With that said, the puncture factor on a lance is pretty high to begin with.

Precision allows you to specify the damage type of a weapon (crushing, slashing, or puncture) when used in combat. Up to 30 weapon types can be specified, and your preference will be stored and automatic, can also be cleared or reset. At one rank, your preference will be used 75% of the time, else the weapon has its normal damage chances. At two ranks, the weapon will always deliver your preferred type of damage. Precision does not function with aimed (ambush) or ranged attacks.

I believe I heard that the aimed restriction was only for when ambushing from hiding. I could be mistaken.

Haven't been aiming my shots actually...raw damage of the lance and air flares usually means death in two to three swings. Ya think I will be able to aim worth a damn with 1x CM, 10 ranks of perception and no ambush? At least the lance is relatively light...

From the open I ambush alright with 1x CM, 30 perception, no ambush training. I generally do it goofing off and it doesn't hurt me if I miss as my swing is like 3 seconds.
