Yea 3 kids came to mine, i'd say they were like 14, dressed in school clothes and had grocery bags. I was like, "Where's your costumes?!" And they were like were lawyers. I did not give them candy!

LOL--that's just wrong ;p

In all seriousness though, is it just me or does it seem like kids don't go trick-or-treating that much anymore? I mean, some do but I remember back when I was little, EVERYONE would be out on Halloween night. Now, I get maybe 4-5 people and that is considered a lot. What's up with that?

The only logical conclusion is Bostonians have finally come to their senses and are abandoning their repugnant city in droves. :)

Living on a state highway is good for privacy on Halloween.

I handed out over 90 candy bars (I did it up this year instead of candy I got the big box of chocolate bars from Costco).

Kids were priceless.

"MOM!! MOM!! He's got supersized bars!"

Cracked me up.

We had over 100 kids in the first couple of hours, but then again we live in one of those neighborhoods where they truck the lil' curtain climbers in.

I love it. I have a smoke machine set up at the front door and blast the older kids with it. Scares the bejeses outta em. LOL!

 SHM. Kids always appreciate less wrappers, more chocolate!

We got about 20. The thing is, the mall here gives out candy. Google King of Prussia mall. Friggin INSANE horrible mall. I understand that's a trend in a lot of towns now.

SHM, that is cool giving out big bars. No wonder you got 90 kids. Word travels fast, lol!

I remember when I was little they used to give out popcorn balls and homemade stuff and money. Getting money was cool back then. :D

Yeah some churches are even having carnivals now. The church across the street from us is cool. They let kids dress up as goulish as they wish and don't preach at them. They just provide a safe environment for kids to celebrate Halloween.

Our neighborhood always overflows with kiddos on Halloween. I love it. This year we didn't have anyone stay home to hand out candy, however we ran into everyone out and about.

I love the guys who put on the scary houses for the kids(and us adults as well). Tonight the "Scary Guy"..followed a very freaked out me down the street, until he caught me...I screamed..he gave me a warm hug..and lurched away. I still don't know who that guy was!

SHM has me beat but I gave out the regular Snickers and Nestle crunch bars and stuff.

Still, only had a total of 10 kids stop by the house. I'm pretty damn sure one of the little bastards was a repeat.

One little sneaky sneakster did a quick, "Hey can I grab one more?" and then proceded to snag five... one of each type. If his parents weren't watching I would've been tempted to boot his ass to the lawn.

I got one in my apartment building! Beats out last year's record of 2 trick or treaters.

Only had about twenty kids come by this year.

Ended up leaving a bowl outside with a note telling whomever came by to take a handfull.

The local store was having a sale on candy bars, 4 for $1. So we just bought a bag full and was giving those out. Even then, we only had 3 groups show up (maybe 11 people total?).

As for the lack of treaters, around here it's due to the mall. It stays open later, it's warm, there is no weather (as it's been raining all day here), and there is 60-70 stores in a two block area, insted of having to walk miles and miles. Kids are lazy this day and age. :P

We had close to 100, I imagine. We give out regular size Snickers, Milky Way and 3 Musketeers. The kids seem thrilled to get them. :)

My hood always does it up good. The street over was shoulder to shoulder barely able to walk down the street because all the parents had their house done up plus some had popcorn machines, margarita machines for the parents, and one had it friggin catered with the grill outside and all. It is our 1st year in here and we ran out of 100 bars in less than an hour! Around 9pm my son looked at me and said I wanna go to bed... Good times.

My husband sat home to hand out candy while I took the kids trick or treating. When I got back, all the lights were off and he was playing Warcraft, so I assumed we ran out of candy. But when I got inside, the bowl was still full. I was pissed til he said, "The only people trick or treating were 15 year old kids without costumes on so I said fuck it and gave up."

:( Halloween's my absolute favorite holiday. Makes me sad that people just really aren't into it anymore. I have to hand it to the woman the next street over. She has six kids and she sent them to invite all their neighborhood friends to a scavenger hunt at her house at 7:30. She bought $70 worth of candy and scattered it all over her yard and inside her living room then let them loose to find as much as they could. Lights off, of course. They all had an absolute blast. I can't wait til my kids are a bit older. Then we'll really go all out for Halloween. Right now Halloween is MY holiday. They go to my mom's to paint pumpkins and I spend about 30 hours carving mine. (There's a pic of one from a few years ago in my gallery and I'll post up this year's soon as my hubby gets home from Raleigh with the digital camera.)
